"Another great Anita Blake Adventure! Our heroine is back on the trail of a serial killer. Fans of the series will be in their element, but I wouldn't recommend reader to just jump into this book without knowledge of Anita's past adventures, so much depends on what happend in the past books that it would be very confusing. It is fun to see Anita back out on in the feild than in the bedroom, but not to worry, there are still tons of yummy men that she needs to feed on. The other great thing is that readers get to spend time away from the "regulars" of Jean-Claude, Nathanial, Micah, Jason, etc. There are the Vampire Hunters that are helping Anita, as well as a great deal of attention placed on the were-tigers. The new location of Las Vegas is fun too, and Hamilton really did her reserach on the look and feel of Vegas, and it shines through. Hamilton has brought in some old friends and new elements to Skin Trade. I always feel the same way after I read one of these books, ...I can't wait for the next one!"

" Love the characters and how they have evolved! I have this series in every format! Yep I even still have the books! Enjoyed Kimberly Alexis narration, she does a great job! "
— Daz, 9/23/2018" Enjoyed this book- good to see Laurell Hamilton focusing more on a storyline again and less on Anita's sexual escapades. It has less Jean Claude which is a disappointment but still building a decent story line. "
— Tracy, 2/18/2014" Ahhh-mazing! love the tigers, and I can't wait for more of The Wicked Truth! "
— Staci, 2/4/2014" I loved this book! Anita is more human, more real, in this book than in any book since the 5th or 6th. The plot was excellent, the action was well defined and obviously well researched. I had no idea what what on in a SWAT operation, how the police work, and about the Wiccan black dogs. I've read so many books that were great pap but had no informative value. The information came in dialogue; well put together, not pedantic dialogue. I would recommend this book to anyone, even someone who hasn't read any of the preceding books in the series. This book could stand alone, and could only make someone want to go back and read the others. "
— Marisella, 2/3/2014" PLOT!! Yaaay! Less sex!! YAAAAY! It's about damn time, Mrs Hamilton! I did enjoy this story, but I missed all the boys we've come to know in the others. Would Anita begrudge me if I offered to take care of Cynric? >_> "
— Kit, 2/1/2014" Really impressed. Her last few seemed plot-free, but this one was back to basics of monsters versus anita. I liked it a lot. "
— cassie, 1/31/2014" Okay...I get it - Anita"s a succubus, she collects men and she can't help it. But when is enough enough? How many men are we supposed to have to care about being with Anita. This is also starting to blur into Merry's world from her elf series. She needs to lose some of the men and get back to the root of all this. Remember when it was just her, Richard, and Jean-Claude? I know I don't either. "
— Salathiel, 1/20/2014" Definitely better than the last 3 Anita Blake books I thought. Edward was weird and not enough JC, but otherwise more violence and less sex. "
— Tamara, 1/16/2014" OMG!! i love this book. i love the story line and Anita never lets me down... "
— Scummy, 1/12/2014" I thought we were getting a break from Anita fighting the ardeur. This one seemed more focused on fighting her inner tigers, but then I got to the end. Yup, there it was. "
— Abby, 12/16/2013" I am truly loving this book...it's back to the "old Anita" hunting vampires with weretigers and LasVegas thrown into the mix! "
— Marilyn, 11/23/2013" Still not as good as her early books in this series, but definitely better than her last couple. I think Hamilton is turning the corner again with this series. "
— Timothy, 10/27/2013" Not the one of the better stories of Anita Blake,U.S.Marshall and vampirer executioner. Very disappointed and I keep asking myself why do I keep reading Laurell Hamilton books. "
— Anthony, 8/20/2013" FINALLY!!! Laurell K Hamilton backed off on the sex and made me love the Anita Blake series all over again. Flawless read. "
— Molly, 5/24/2013" This was refreshing. The plot was back and the sex scenes were limited, which made them more interesting. Anita spends less time agonizing over things, for a change, and less time whining. :-) I hope the remaining books continue in this vein. "
— Kat, 1/10/2013" Nothing like her early works. She did do better with not having too much Anita succubus but still too much for me. "
— Dana, 12/14/2012" Typical Hamilton, not her best but good "
— Alan, 7/18/2012" This was a great book.I really loved this book. Edward and Olaf are back, I always love reading about Edward and even was happy to see Olaf. And, of course Bernardo too. "
— Buqet, 4/24/2011" It's a shame that the best Anita Blake books are those in which Anita flys off leaving her personal life behind and the plot doesn't get dragged down. My second reading of Skin Trade is a little less dissappointing than the first time through.

Maybe my expectations are lower. "
— Cassandra, 4/23/2011" I thought it was like most of the later books in the series. They all seem the same. "
— Christine, 4/23/2011" Las Vegas? Really? I wonder how irritated I'll be considering I live here. (Started 4/13/11) "
— Chan, 3/3/2011" Meet Anita and her magical vagina....? Yeah it sounds interesting till u read it and figure out I'm not kidding. SKIP THIS BOOK if you've any love for Anita. I can't figure out where Anita begins and Merry ends. And at least Merry had a goal in mind. "
— Kristen, 2/18/2011" Other than my compulsion to finish a series, I don't know why I continue to read the Anita Blake series. I keep hoping they will get better like they used to be. "
— Jennifer, 2/15/2011" A good "out of town" adventure for Anita and the crew. I love the series storyline some of the explanations are redundant but still love reading them. "
— Colleen, 2/8/2011" Anita's angst is getting a overplayed....repeating inner dialogue...the story is drawn out and then, abruptly comes to a conclusion...I noticed that in the last book, too. Getting so hung up in the inner strife of the main character, forgetting the storyline - losing the balance. "
