"This book was too good to put down. I finished it in less than 2 days. Now I have to wait forever for the next Laurell K. Hamilton book. I love the fact that she is taking the time to get the readers to see who the different characters are in the different books. I like the way Nathaniel is growing into a more dominate man. I wish there was more involvement with the vampires. Laurell has be thirsty for more."

" This series is going downhill. :( Where is the kickass Anita? I'd love to see more of her! I'll keep reading though and hope I get to see her again. "

" I need to just stop reading the Anita Blake series. The story is thin, the characters are flat and I no longer feel that flutter of anticipation I used to get when a new Anita was on the shelves. This one I borrowed from a friend and I wish I hadn't. I've been waiting for Jason to get his own story. In my humble opinion, he deserved a better one. "

" The only thing I did not like was how soon it all ended. Just when you start to get into the meat of the story, LKH ends it. And rather abruptly. I enjoyed that this one wasn't all sex and emotions. Nice to see some other people involved. "

" This was closer to the Anita Blake I know and miss. I was happy that Jason got his own book, sort of, but the powers that came along with everything else are totally wrong! Poor Crispin. And great, now everyone has another reason to hate Richard. I can't wait for the next book. "

" This is a fabulous read and I knew going in that it was part of a series, but I'd heard quite a lot of praise for Laurell K. Hamilton, so I decided to give her a try. NOW I want to read the rest of the series. "

" Probably the best Anita Blake book that has come out in the last few years. It was wonderful to see a little bit come out about Jason's life and even better to see Anita so on top of things. Finally, a book has come out in this series that stands up to some of the earlier ones. "

" This book basically deals with the relationships Anita has with Jason and Richard. There is no police case to work on or big who done it mystery element. Not that that's a bad thing. I read this series for the characters and the ever expanding world of Anita Blake Vampire Hunter. "

" Ok, so I have been rooting for Jason from the beginning. And, I love the outcome of this book. It was a little disturbing what Marmee Noir was able to do though. I do love that we got to learn about Jason and how and where he grew up. "
