"I enjoyed this addition to the series although in the middle I got frustrated. I felt as though the book was dragging a bit but after it picks back up. I felt like the addition of the vampire story line was un-needed and the story would have held up on its own. All in all I still enjoy this series!"

" This book was okay. The series so far has been enjoyable for me. However, after reading this book, it seems like it's just the same old thing with the same character. There didn't seem to be a whole lot of substance to the story. "

" My least favorite book so far. I hate the werewolves, skipped the pages with wolfie sex and I'm getting tired of the werepanthers. Anita is becoming a freak and that she can be so hung up on this guy when she has one of the sexiest vampires around wanting her is stupid. Hope next one is better. "

" How many more times can I say that this woman is an amazing writer? She hooked me early in this one and ... wow. Just when I think she can not come up with any more purely evil antagonists, she does just that. "

" Once again a good story and plot. Having read this series once before I believe that this book is where she starts lose me. As Hamilton always pointless sex to overrun good story line. I'll let you know as I re-read the rest. This was a good read. "

" Anita, Anita. What the hell is wrong with you? This was a great series when it started out. Now its just bad. But I promised to read to the end of what is currently out. I will see if I can my promise. It's looking like there are slim chances. "

" re read june 2nd 2011 loved it! I've been reading so many of these - the Anita Blake world feels real. I'm disappointed when I remember its all just a fantasy. I love this author for that. "

" This book is a bit of a defining moment in this series. It focuses almost solely on the lycanthrope relationships in Anita's life and strays away from the vampire for the most part. And it's the first book where things get a bit down and dirty. It's not one of my favorites but I still enjoy it. "

" I thought for the first 300 or so pages that this was going to be the last book in the series that I read. It was just too silly (not quite the right word, but close). The last 100 or so pages made me think that maybe this was the best book in the series, which I would say is rather impressive. "
