Publisher Description

First time in trade paperback: the fourth novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series. Vampire hunter and zombie animator Anita Blake is an expert at sniffing out the bad from the good. But in The Lunatic Cafe-now in trade paperback for the first time-she's about to learn that nothing is ever as it seems, especially in matters of the not-so-human heart. Dating a werewolf with self-esteem issues is stressing Anita out. Especially when something-or someone-starts taking out the city's shapeshifters.

"Much more interesting; I found myself more drawn to the personal story than the over arching plot in this one, which is good. I'm starting to give a darn about the characters. Anita is starting to get a clue about her life, though she's still mostly in denial. I do like the tension between Jean-Claude, Richard and Anita, and I'm waiting to see where this goes."

" All you ever wanted to know about werewolves, and their human and vampire friends. I think I liked this one better than a few of the other books, they start to get out of hand later on in the series. "

" This one was definitely better than the first one, but still not up to par with any of Anne Rice novels or even Twilight. They are very violent and the author's writing style needs work. "

" Anita Blake's life is far from dull when she starts dating a werewolf and continues her assisting the police. In "The Lunatic Cafe" Blake is trying to find out who is killing lycanthropes. As with the previous books in the series, nothing (or should I say no one) is quite what they seem. "

" This would have to be my favourite book in the Anita Blake series so far. I like how the characters are FINALLY developing. I love Jean-Claude as always, but now Richard is definitly growing on me, unlike in the last book. The actually murder investigations were ignored a little bit but I still really enjoyed this book, bring on the next one! "

" Those lycanthropes are wicked! LOVE IT! LKH keeps things moving just as fast and just as tightly woven as she did in Laughing Corpse! She is a bit repetitive, it seems, but it reinforces where Anit is and where she is going! Again, a great addition to my library! "

" Werewolves... The tension in this story with the triangle love story is so intense. Anita is caught between a vampire she hates to love and a werewolf she "should" hate and is still the savior of the day. The climax of this read is wonderfully thought out and executed, be prepared to sit on the edge of your seat the whole time reading it. "

" this one focuses mainly on the weres and police work. it's better than the earlier ones but still not at it's peak yet. Anita's still way too gun happy. "

" Predictable. Don't know why I keep reading them. I do know it's to spite the penguins. It just creeps me out. Something keeps pulling back to read the next. Guess I'm waiting for Anita and Jean-Claude to do the deed. That I have to read "
