"This was another great book I have to make sure Im writing for the right book because when your was them book after book they seem to just fall right together but this was another great book the plot was good there were a few parts that dragged a little but for the most part it had or of adventure I like how it goes to a new place away from what you are used to and out of Anita's comfort zone where she has to over come so much in such a little time and with so little help."

What The Da Vinci Code did for the religious thriller, the Anita Blake series has done for the vampire novel.
— USA TodayBreathtaking.
— St. Louis Post-DispatchHighly-charged, well-written, no holds-barred… jaw-dropping.
— Denver Post" Absolutely love this series! Some of the male characters sound very similar which makes it a bit harder to determine who is talking at the time. "
— jmju, 5/14/2024" Love the books! Love the Audiobooks! Enjoyed the narration as well! "
— Daz, 9/23/2018" This one was a little slow at times but still a fun read. "
— Kathleen, 2/11/2014" A very good series. Not quite as good as previous books, starts off a little slow but picks up toward the end. The next book in the series more than makes up for this books lacking. "
— Jessica, 2/10/2014" Really getting into this series. Love the fact that she has her little Penguin quirk "
— Gabrielle, 2/3/2014" I enjoy reading this book series. After checking out her website, there is a deal to bring Anita Blake to film/TV. In my copy there was an afterword which was interesting to read on how L. Hamilton feels about her characters. "
— Gwen, 1/31/2014" Ok.. The first oh.. like 2/3 of the book sucked. It was slow and I didn't care for it at all & had to make myself keep reading it.. But it did pick up towards the end. I liked the ending.. it was pretty good. "
— Donna, 1/30/2014" I loved this story line! So far it's one of the best. Book one in the Anita Blake series had me hooked, this book just made it harder to turn away from the crazy life Anita leads. Crazy faes and even crazier vampires. ALL want her dead. Battling her wits and keeping her new rookie alive. Well worth the read. "
— Nanette, 1/23/2014" Strong female lead, graphic violence and sex. "
— Vicky, 1/16/2014" I liked how the plot was created from the beginning, but the ending was horribly tiring "
— Olga, 1/10/2014" As always a good read, it annoyed me a bit there was more focus on crimesolving hen usual, not a big fan of crime novels. "
— Leodora, 11/19/2013" I am slowly working my way through this series. I thought they might quickly grow old and predictable; but although they can be somewhat predictable, they are getting much better as the lines between good and evil get even more fuzzy. I am really looking forward to the next one... "
— Christina, 11/4/2013" Good idea, with an interesting set of backstories. Anita's powers are getting more and more impressive, which isn't really a good thing later on but here it is still manageable. The last of the really solid books. "
— Speed8ump, 10/16/2013" I liked this one Anita is finally realising that she is one of the monsters and maybe just maybe not all monsters are bad!! "
— Kathryn, 8/22/2013" Getting better all the time... "
— Kim, 8/21/2013" finished it on holiday, another gr8 anita blake mystery. love 'em! "
— Penni, 4/28/2013" Still by far my favorite in the Anita Blake series "
— Katryna, 3/12/2013" I did not expect that ending... "
— Khristine, 2/10/2013" An amazing twist i would not have expected fairies to be apart of this world let alone phycotic! "
— Justin, 9/18/2012" this book introduced Fairies and other sorts of creatures!! "
— Thea, 3/13/2012" I really enjoyed this book. One of my favs in the series. I love all the drama, and the rotting vamps. And that nice scene with Jean Claude, whilst Jason and Larry was out. "
— Zafia, 12/20/2011" Good part in the series, although Anita is always a little bit too grumpy for my taste and too eager to shoot people/vampires. "
— Teipu, 11/20/2011" this series is getting better and better. the only problems i had where when anita cut off the goats head and the little boys, but otherwise i highly enjoyed this book :) "
— ?, 4/29/2011" I am having fun listening to these, but I am not overly fond of the sound effects and music in some parts...I am getting more work done though! "
— Shelly, 4/11/2011" I learned That Anita was Decleared as a Master Amoung the Vampires , and she also gained some respect of the feds while she was trying to solve a Muder case in a different town . "
— Adam, 4/4/2011" well plotted but too violent and badly proofread "
— Helen, 3/31/2011" Que du J-C/Anita dans ce livre et aucun Richard à l'horizon *le rêve* ! "
— Julia, 2/20/2011" Anita, why must all the bad guys always find you? "
