" This is one of my favourites so far, I love how the relationship has finally developed between Jean-Claude and Anita, yet I still feel sorry for Richard. The actual plot outside of the relationships is interesting and also gets you sucked in. The only problem is Hamilton's use of so much discription and I found myself skipping through heavily described paragraphs of writing. "

" Team Richard!! The tension between Anita and Richard in this book drove me insane! Some parts were hard to read in a Twilight New Moon way. oh Anita! "

" It was gooood and kept me on the edge of my seat! "

" Considerable language, sex, violence. (Can't believe I read this crappy series for this long) "

" Meh, this book wasn't all that great. I enjoyed meeting the council members we met, but other than that I wasn't too interested. The Cleansing storyline was all bit forgotten, even by the book itself. And I didn't think it was possible, but Richard pissed me off even more than in previous books. "

" Compared to the couple books directly before this in the Anita Blake series, I enjoyed this one more (once I had the time to sit down and read it). Now that there are more established relationships between characters, the dynamics seem to be more detailed especially where it concerns the new triumvirate the powers they don't know they have. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately?) I read a spoiler in the afterword for a book a few books forward in the series, so now I'm a bit intrigued where this is all going, yet slightly scared. (Scared especially when it comes to the kinky sex parts, which I shouldn't be scared of, I've read the entire Merry Gentry series so far after all...) "

" This one wasn't so bad. At least the book laid off of the double men topic somewhat and Anita seems to hold onto some of her sanity. Some. "

" The vampire council was interesting and I like the little bits of history we get about Vampires and Jean Claude. I like meeting Asher and seeing all of the lycanthropes in this one. A lot of action and kept my attention throughout. "

" I think what bothered me so much was the methods of 'torture' used... my own issues, I know, but when faced with too much of it, I physically became ill. Otherwise, it was a novel filled with suspense that kept you engaged until the very end... "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Cassandra | 4/23/2011

" It's a shame that the best Anita Blake books are those in which Anita flys off leaving her personal life behind and the plot doesn't get dragged down. My second reading of Skin Trade is a little less dissappointing than the first time through.

Maybe my expectations are lower. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Christine | 4/23/2011

" Meet Anita and her magical vagina....? Yeah it sounds interesting till u read it and figure out I'm not kidding. SKIP THIS BOOK if you've any love for Anita. I can't figure out where Anita begins and Merry ends. And at least Merry had a goal in mind. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Jennifer | 2/15/2011

" Other than my compulsion to finish a series, I don't know why I continue to read the Anita Blake series. I keep hoping they will get better like they used to be. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Colleen | 2/8/2011

" A good "out of town" adventure for Anita and the crew. I love the series storyline some of the explanations are redundant but still love reading them. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Wendi | 2/2/2011

" Anita's angst is getting a overplayed....repeating inner dialogue...the story is drawn out and then, abruptly comes to a conclusion...I noticed that in the last book, too. Getting so hung up in the inner strife of the main character, forgetting the storyline - losing the balance. "
