“After reading this audio book, I felt the location of the real battle in my life – the mind. Everything starts with a thought. It is very impressive to see that everything said is backed up with something that has been written back then. It is a type of book where you are half in the church and half in the secular world.”

Mere Christianity is C. S. Lewis’s forceful and accessible doctrine on Christian belief. First heard as informal radio broadcasts and then published as three separate books—The Case for Christianity, Christian Behavior, and Beyond Personality—Mere Christianity brings together what Lewis sees as the fundamental truths of his religion.
Rejecting the boundaries that divide Christianity’s many denominations, C. S. Lewis finds a common ground on which all those who have Christian faith can stand together, proving that “at the center of each there is something, or a Someone, who against all divergences of belief, all differences of temperament, all memories of mutual persecution, speaks with the same voice.”
“The most fantastic book I've read in a long while! The author offers us in his highly readable discussion both his intellectual reflections about faith and then the inner workings of faith itself. A rare and perfect blend.”

Anxiety is at an all time high, but there's a prescription for dealing with it. Max Lucado invites readers into a study of Philippians 4:6-7 where the Apostle Paul admonishes the followers of Christ, "Do not be anxious about anything . . ."
Philippians 4:6 encourages the believer to "be anxious for nothing." As Lucado states, the apostle Paul seems to leave little leeway here. "Be anxious for nothing. Nada. Zilch. Zero."
What's he suggesting? That we should literally be anxious for absolutely nothing? Lucado says, "The presence of anxiety is unavoidable, but the prison of anxiety is optional. It's the life of perpetual anxiety that Paul wants to address. Don't let anything in life leave you perpetually in angst."
Americans especially know about living in perpetual anxiety. According to one research program, anxiety-related issues are the number one mental health problem among women and are second only to alcohol and drug abuse among men. Stress-related ailments cost the nation $300 billion every year in medical bills and lost productivity. And use of sedative drugs like Xanax and Valium have skyrocketed in the last 15 years. Even students are feeling it. One psychologist reports that the average high school kid today has the same level of anxiety as the average psychiatric patient in the early 1950s.
"The news about our anxiety is enough to make us anxious," says Lucado. But there's a prescription for dealing with it. Lucado invites readers into a study of Philippians 4:6-7, the most highlighted passage of any book on the planet, according to Amazon:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
"With His help you will learn to face the calamities of life. You'll learn how to talk yourself off the ledge. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you will learn to view bad news through the lens of sovereignty; to discern the lies of Satan and tell yourself the truth. You will manifest a gentleness that is evident to others. Anxiety comes with life. But it doesn't have to dominate your life."
“A compulsively readable book focused on an aspect of Christian living that many find challenging: overcoming anxiety to find peace in life. In this edifying work, Lucado focuses on the heavy burden of anxiety carried by so many Christians, and then carefully explains what he views as God’s remedy for this anxiety. Reflecting on his own childhood experiences, both the good and the bad, he demonstrates how the amazing power of God’s grace can help believers emerge from the pit of despair into the light of Christ’s gospel, recognizes the deep scars left by sin, and recommends a full immersion in God’s loving embrace as a remedy. Giving up to that power, truly living in faith, is the only path to solace from guilt. Lucado provides moments of reflection but not advice, instead pointing to the Scriptural lessons at the heart of any decision or situation. Free of theological jargon and filled with wise counsel for believers at every stage of spiritual maturity, Lucado’s message will delight his Christian readership: ‘You may be facing the perfect storm, but Jesus offers the perfect peace.’”

When Colton survived the surgery, his parents were relieved and glad to move on. But slowly, Colton started to reveal things he saw during his procedure that made them take notice. Colton claimed he left his body during the appendectomy, and his parents started believing him when he was able to tell them things that they were doing at that time in another part of the hospital that he had no way of knowing.
Additionally, Colton made claims about visiting heaven. His father Todd Burpo dismissed them as anesthesia-laced dreams, until the pastor in him started recognizing biblical facts that had Colton had not learned in any preschool Sunday School class.
Finally, Colton starts to tell stories of people he met in heaven, and his parents are astounded to realize that these are descriptions of family members that Colton has never met because they died before he was born.
Believers and skeptics alike will find this to be an intriguing and enjoyable audiobook.
Author Todd Burpo is the pastor of a church in Nebraska, and also spends his time as a volunteer firefighter. He is father of Colton, who is now 13-years-old and three other children. Lynn Vincent was a collaborating writer on this project, and the San Diego resident most recently worked on Sarah Palin's Rogue. She started off writing for World Magazine after serving in the Navy.
“What an amazing story of a little boy's trip to heaven and back - the details he states in conversations with his parents has changed my view of eternity - this will definitely change how you think about eternity. I know heaven is for real and enjoyed reading this book.”

God did not mean for salvation to be a deep, complicated subject that man could not understand. But sometimes man’s words confuse God’s simple truths. D. L. Moody, one of the nineteenth century’s greatest evangelists, shows how simple salvation is. Avoiding heavy philosophy, he simply shows “the way to God.”
The Way to God is filled with stories about ordinary people. Anyone willing to have honest questions and doubts answered will appreciate such topics as, “Who is Christ?” “How can I know my sins have been forgiven?” and “What can I do if I have turned away from God?”
More than one million copies of this classic work have been distributed since it was first published in 1884.
“No one, after reading the nine addresses in this work, can be ignorant of ‘the way to God.’ There seems no mistaking the author’s meaning isasmuch that it may be said that whoso runs may read and he who reads may run in the way to profit and understand.”
