"This book did not quite end as I anticipated. Albeit, there is a lot of ulterior motives and politics that seeps through the pages, I definitely ejoyed this book. Again, a great addition to my library to re-read at leasure and re-evaluate the comings and goings. A great thing to include additional lore from the more commonly thought of Celtic pagan beliefs and practices. The fae have more than one side (frisky/jokester) to ponder!"

Highly-charged, well-written, no holds-barred… jaw-dropping.
— Denver PostBreathtaking.
— St. Louis Post-DispatchWhat The Da Vinci Code did for the religious thriller, the Anita Blake series has done for the vampire novel.
— USA Today" This one was a fun one but it did seem to drag just a touch because there was just a touch too much going on. I love that we see another side to jean Claude and Anita's relationship and that Jason is coming into play more. He was always an enjoyable character. "
— Caitlin, 2/17/2014" Series still hasn't gone crazy yet. "
— K.G., 2/6/2014" I loved that Jean Claude is back to tempt Anita. He's always been there, but he seemed to get really close to crossing that line of too creepy for romance. I'm so glad LKH brought him back around as a potential for Anita's affections. Great plot in this book with a lot of "how the heck will she get out of this one?" parts. I moved quickly through this and am now on to The Killing Dance. "
— Kasey, 1/31/2014" This one was a little slow at times but still a fun read. "
— Kathleen, 1/18/2014" This series is fantastic!!!! Can't wait to start the next book. "
— Zulma, 1/15/2014" My fave line is 'necromancer with a chaser of werewolf a drink to make any vampire giddy he giggled . Jean-Claude never giggled "
— Aimee, 1/15/2014" Fluff read with sex and action. Can be addicting, but won't add much to your life. Read at your own risk. "
— Wolfbane, 1/7/2014" Generic mystery/vampire/monster hunter fare - book candy. "
— Kabara, 1/4/2014" i love action adventure books.. i'm really enjoying this series-- i bought all of them.. "
— angelina, 1/4/2014" Considerable language, sex, violence. "
— Abby, 12/27/2013" Now this one was good. Not nearly as obvious as the last couple, some deeper insights into Anita, real inner turmoil - I really enjoyed it! Can't wait for the next one, which is not what I was thinking after the last one. Hope it keeps up! "
— Ana, 12/15/2013" blegh. this one was pretty good. she likes jean claude. i totally saw that one coming. "

— Joanna, 4/30/2013" What a dramatic life! Big fan of the bath scene ;) "
— Allison, 4/9/2013" Not a fan of the love triangle, reminds me too much of the worst parts of Twilight. "
— Stormofthedragon, 1/19/2013" Just when you think Anita's hemming and hawing between Jean Claude and Richard is over... "
— Samara, 10/4/2012" This one seemed a bit more complicated than those before it. There was a lot going on, and a big mystery in play that kept me guessing nearly to the end. It was a fun ride :3 I hated the bad guys, loved the good guys, and rooted for the ones in the gray quarter. I Can't wait to read the next one! "
— Cary, 11/21/2011" I love this series, I have to find out what happens to Anita. Is she ever going to stop getting hurt or causing harm to herself? I have to finish this series..lol! It was good book as always fulll of twists. Every book I read of this series never lets me down, what a great read! "
— Sabrina, 7/20/2011" ... still no s.ex :( "
— Sarah, 7/4/2011" Weelll, I love how the titles so far have all been the names of clubs. Faeries play a small roll in this one. Of course we battle ANOTHER master vampire. Why can't I simply put these down? I have a huge pile of other stuff to read! "
— Kerry, 5/29/2011" this series is getting better and better. the only problems i had where when anita cut off the goats head and the little boys, but otherwise i highly enjoyed this book :) "
— ?, 4/29/2011" I am having fun listening to these, but I am not overly fond of the sound effects and music in some parts...I am getting more work done though! "
— Shelly, 4/11/2011" I learned That Anita was Decleared as a Master Amoung the Vampires , and she also gained some respect of the feds while she was trying to solve a Muder case in a different town . "

— Julia, 2/20/2011" Anita, why must all the bad guys always find you? "
