6. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

The Red Queen series is a young adult (YA) fantasy. The story takes place in a kingdom where people are segregated by the color of their blood. People with red blood are poor and ordinary, while those with silver blood are the elites who also have supernatural powers.

Mare Barrow, a 17-year-old girl with red blood ends up working in the Silver Palace. During her time there, working for people she hates, she finds out that she, too, possesses incredible powers. Fearful of her abilities, the silver blooded nobility keeps her hidden in plain sight, keeping a close eye on her so she doesn’t upset their balance of power. Mare has other ideas, though.
