"I actually read the Suite 606 version without reading the other stories, so I am going with the audio entry since it's a stand-alone. This short "in Death" deals with a murder and little else. It is fast-paced and leaves you spinning as Eve races to the solution to the murder and makes 13 arrests. There are a few brief moments with Roarke where they go head to head over some minor things but for the most part, Eve steams ahead, blasting everyone out of her way until she has a wrap. Peabody gets to contact the PA for the warrants for the first time and Mira's schedule gets blown to smithereens as Eve forces her to leave her regular clients in the lurch so she can work with two people immediately, which probably saves their lives. A bit of ESP stuff in this one, with sensitives, the occult, etc. and Isis makes a cameo appearance with a brief reference to Chas, so that was nice. Still, these shorts always leave me wanting more than can be gotten into this format."

" A quick futuristic delve into the world LT. Eve Dallas. She is a hard boiled detective for the police department, determined to right wrongs, find the truth, protect or avenge the innocent and be a loving wife to one of the richest, sexiest men in the world. Who says you can't have it all! "
— Jo, 2/9/2014" Cops really do see everything... A more realistic incorporation of Suite 606 then the other two short stories. "
— Kathy, 2/3/2014" This was one of the short stories featured in the SUITE 606 anthology. Not as satisfying as the full length stories only because it's short, the story feels rushed and doesn't have all of the elements of the plot I have come to enjoy and look forward to with each Eve Dallas story. But I still enjoyed the story and the new twist of a Satanic ritual in the plot. I especially enjoy it when Eve gets to be a bad ass when interrogating the perps. I'm glad I'm not the one sitting on the other side of the table... "
— Sharal, 1/23/2014" I really liked this one! It was short and horrifying, but interesting. I loved Isis when she was introduced and always enjoy watching Eve deal with Sensitives. Such a tragic and wasteful murder-it felt somewhat closer to real life. "
— Gina, 1/23/2014" I love J.D. Robb books, and this is no exception. The character of Eve, the fast thinking, and fearless cop, married to the handsome and very sexy Irish Roarke is hard to turn away from. Her books never bore me, and I have read them all. This was no exception.Plenty of plot, and character development. I never can wait for the next one. A very great read! "
— Pamela, 1/16/2014" Short Story - hurried but good. "
— Peggy, 12/22/2013" Beautiful things do come in small packages! This fine short story from the queen of crime is the complete package from the very first line about her shoes to the final confrontation. Dallas is the perfect cop and Ms Robb her talented and prolific creator. Hope they both live forever..... "
— Su, 12/11/2013" Another case closed as Eve and Peabody put away all 13 of the bad guys. A ritual killing at one of Roarke's hotels? Ices returns again, which is a nice blast from the past. "
— Christine, 12/8/2013" This is a much shorter version of the usual "in death" series books. Still good, but didn't have the usual build and was a quick solve to the "who dunnit". "
— Kara, 12/1/2013" This was a very quick listen on CD. I really enjoy that Susan Ericksen is reading the J.D.Robb series of books. She even catches Roarke's Irish inflection. "
— Lynn, 10/20/2013" I love this books, I still have not read one that I have not been satisfied with. Hard to put down. "
— Eny, 10/11/2013" This is not the first book in this series that touches on the occult; and much like the other one, I didn't care for it. It was a quick little story, and I was very glad there wasn't more to it, I don't think I would have been able to stand it. "
— Shae, 10/1/2013" I've read most of the novellas in this series, and this is the first one that I really wished had been longer so that the story could be more fleshed out. "
— Kori, 8/13/2013" A repeat from the Suite 606 which was just okay for me. Not that memorable. "
— ♆, 8/5/2013" I've noticed that J.D. Robb's novellas aren't all that spectacular. But it's an Eve Dallas story, so I couldn't *not* like it. "
— Vicki, 5/31/2013" I thought this one was scarier than normal. "
— Jess, 11/6/2012" Another short visit to 2060. Nothing special, nothing terrible. Wrapped up pretty fast; not enough McNab. "
— Wendy, 8/21/2012" Not her best short story. It was almost good. :-) "
— Barbara, 5/7/2012" Thought I skipped one of the novels, but it turns out it was just a short story. "
— Calina405, 2/8/2012" A short one, and again more of the supernatural element that Robb just doesn't handle very successfully. Not bad, but not great. "
— Tara, 12/16/2011" I listened to the audiobook. the story was interesting. the first one of this series I have read. The narrator made her sound Pissed off the entire time, which was a bit distracting. It was only 3 hours long so good for a few short trips "
— Lyndsay, 10/28/2011" loved it, nice to see Isis back "
— Lesley, 9/27/2011" Another really good book in this enjoyable series! "
— Jana, 5/8/2011" Ah, another great Lieutenant Eve Dallas and Roarke book! You can see the action as if watching a movie while you read. "
— Sharon, 5/5/2011" This was a great JD Robb book. JD Robb's mysteries are always a book I read in 1 or 2 days because I do not want to put the book down. She is fun writer and it is a light read. "
— Bonnie, 5/1/2011" I like how Eve's softer, more emotional side is coming out in the later books in the In Death Series. Could've used more of it based in Ireland, but that's a personal preference, not a flaw.
All in all a good read, hard to put the book down. "
— Shirl, 4/28/2011" I really enjoy this series. This book was as well written, engaging, and as fun to read as the rest. Keep them coming!! (er, as in, more books please) "
— Karen, 4/18/2011" Eve and Roarke in fine form. One of the best of this long-running series. "
— Stephanie, 4/16/2011" This wasn't my favorite Death book. I really liked the beginning, but it lagged big time in the middle, and raced to the finish, and had an abrupt ending. It seemed to take me a long time to read this one.
"
