Publisher Description

In early spring of 2059, Lieutenant Eve Dallas is called off planet to face a grueling ordeal—giving a seminar at the largest police conference of the year, to be held in a swanky resort. A resort which just happens to be owned by her husband, Roarke, of course.

Even though Eve can't quite see it that way, it's supposed to be at least partly a vacation. But work intrudes in the form of a bloody homicide, and Eve is off and running. The case is complicated by Eve's personal history with the victim—and by the killer's history with Roarke. As danger closes in and the body count rises, Eve must find a way to stop the cycle of violence and revenge, and shove the past back where it belongs.

"I like how Eve's softer, more emotional side is coming out in the later books in the In Death Series. Could've used more of it based in Ireland, but that's a personal preference, not a flaw. All in all a good read, hard to put the book down. "

" Even though I like these books a lot, it makes me sad that Nora Roberts' version of the future still features super prominent misogyny. Maybe she thinks we won't pick up on something more subtle? "

" An short Eve Dallas novella finds Eve at a police conference at Rourke's resort off planet. When a retired police chief corners Eve telling her she's a disgrace to the badge because she married Rourke and asking her to turn him in, Eve naturally takes offense. His personal vendetta comes to a head when one of his bodyguards is murdered and Rourke is the prime suspect. As Eve aids the local police chief in solving the murder and the one that follows, she's convinced that the esteemed, retired police chief has more to do with it then he's letting on. Definitely a quick read being that it's a novella and although entertaining, not as good as the full novels. "
