When a murder disrupts the Irish vacation she is taking with her husband, Roarke, Eve realizes that no place is safe—not an Irish wood or the streets of the manic city she calls home. But nothing prepares her for what she discovers upon her return to the cop shop in New York City.... A driver for a top-of-the-line limousine service is found dead—shot through the neck with a crossbow. The car was booked by an executive at a venerable security company whose identity had been stolen. Days later, a stunning, high-priced escort is found killed at Coney Island, a bayonet stuck in her heart. And again, the trail leads to a CEO whose information has been hijacked. With a method established, but no motive to be found, Eve begins to fear that she has come across that most dangerous of criminals, a thrill killer, but one with a taste for the finer things in life—and death. Eve does not know where or when the next kill will be, or that her investigation will take her to the rarefied circle that Roarke travels in—and into the perverted heart of madness....

"This wasn't as good as Fantasy in Death, mostly because of the one-dimensional bad guys. It reminded me of Columbo in how the guilty parties were readily apparent although the proof was harder to seal. This was an engaging, fun read even if it did not hit the deeper points that its predecessor did."

" This is my second Eve Dallas book. I don't know why there have been so many. It was too tedious getting through this one, so I think it will be my last. "
— Jbrown, 2/8/2014" These are always a good read, but the formula is starting to get, well, formulaic--and not in a good way. Robb has had some intense and interesting characters in the series; I hope to see new ones in the next installment. And where was Mavis, I ask you? I NEED TO KNOW WHO THE CANDY THIEF IS!!! "
— Michelle, 1/29/2014" Consistently fun. Getting more into relationship than hot monkey-sex, but I like it that way equally well. "
— Incandragon, 1/29/2014" I was actually surprised that I enjoyed this book. I have certain authors that I seem to not be able to stop reading even though their series are getting old and boring and J.D. Robb is one of them. Evanovich is another. Anyway, I was pleased to actually have a good detective story, comparatively speaking. Fast fun read. "
— Bree, 1/8/2014" Two over-privileged creeps kill people as a "game" as our intrepid heroine, Lt. Eve Dallas races to stop them. Pretty good entry in the "In Death" series. "
— Georgene, 1/2/2014" Where's the epilogue??? Nice clean-up to the mystery but what about the rest of the story? "
— Jacqueline, 12/20/2013" Another excellent addition to the series. "
— Steven, 12/19/2013" I just love this series and can't wait until the next one to come out! There is just so much in her books and they draw you right in! "
— Debi, 12/11/2013" More of the same. You know who did it at least half way through the books. The "who" left SO many clues to their identity that you had to wonder if they just wanted to be caught. This one felt tedious. "
— Jenn, 12/10/2013" I continue to love JD Robb and the Dallas character. She can't write these fast enough for me. "
— Lynne, 12/7/2013" J.D. Robb continues to bring the intrigue with each case from the Death series "
— doug, 10/23/2013" Enjoyed....wish I would have read the book out before this one, but now i know spoilers, so will have to go back later! "
— Rachelle, 9/24/2013" This was a good read. The story was good, a page turner. The bad guys were something you can really dislike. The good guys win in the end. And, the story was good, plenty of twists and turns but not too much to get you off track. Overall a very good read. "
— Mark, 8/29/2013" Not so great. I think you have to be following these characters in other books to really like them. I didn't. LOL "
— Janet, 8/26/2013" I always love these books. I did think that everything wrapped up more easily than the last two mysteries, but that didn't detract from the story for me. "
— Shelley, 8/15/2013" One of my favorites. Totally worth the wait! "
— Keira, 7/24/2013" Another great installment! After so many books in this series, it's still going strong. And the first chapter was hilarious! Probably my favorite chapter in any book I've read, I loved it so much! "
— Teo, 6/7/2013" Why do I have to pick up such a good book when I have homework that's calling my name? "
— Jason, 1/14/2013" Really a three and one half stars, but they won't let you give partial stars. "
— Lorie, 3/23/2012" I have read the entire In Death series. Although I know the formula - the series is like visiting with old, dear friends. We often don't know who committed the crime in this series, but this time we know fairly early. The surprise is in how the killer(s) get caught. Very enjoyable. "
— Karen, 11/15/2011" This series is like a comfortable chair, warm blanket and a cat on your lap. It is good to be back with the crew, they just keep getting better and better! "
— LizH, 6/9/2011" Another really good book in this enjoyable series! "
— Jana, 5/8/2011" Ah, another great Lieutenant Eve Dallas and Roarke book! You can see the action as if watching a movie while you read. "
— Sharon, 5/5/2011" This was a great JD Robb book. JD Robb's mysteries are always a book I read in 1 or 2 days because I do not want to put the book down. She is fun writer and it is a light read. "
— Bonnie, 5/1/2011" I like how Eve's softer, more emotional side is coming out in the later books in the In Death Series. Could've used more of it based in Ireland, but that's a personal preference, not a flaw.
All in all a good read, hard to put the book down. "
— Shirl, 4/28/2011" I really enjoy this series. This book was as well written, engaging, and as fun to read as the rest. Keep them coming!! (er, as in, more books please) "
— Karen, 4/18/2011" Eve and Roarke in fine form. One of the best of this long-running series. "
— Stephanie, 4/16/2011" This wasn't my favorite Death book. I really liked the beginning, but it lagged big time in the middle, and raced to the finish, and had an abrupt ending. It seemed to take me a long time to read this one.
"
