When club-hopping bad girl Tiara Kent is found dead in her plush Manhattan apartment, the killing has all the earmarks of a vampire attack. The ever-practical Lieutenant Eve Dallas has to deal with superstitious cops carrying garlic and stakes, as well as the ever-hysterical press. None of the wealthy young victim’s friends seem to know much about the Dark Prince she has been secretly seeing. The chase to stop him before he kills again will lead Eve and her team into areas of the city that not even the most intrepid cop wants to visit, and into the very heart of darkness. " Hummm........... Vampires; living forever young? NOT GONNA HAPPEN! But it was a great little story that was spun. Listened to this one on C.D. I liked this form of media once in awhile. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Andrea Vanin | 2/8/2014

" A quick and intriguing case for Dallas and Peabody. This book is a short story between Innocent in Death and Creation in Death. "

" I guess it was about time that Nora Roberts gave into the trend and wrote about vampires. This was the worst (for me) so far in the series and I quite like them all. However, it had it's moments, the characters and some of the dialogues are the only reason I'm giving this 3 stars instead of 2. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Sillylittlefishey | 1/16/2014

" I thought this was a decent Halloween story, no the usual corny ho-ha. You get to see some nice moments between Eve and Roarke and I loved Baxter in this one. But overall, it was just too short to blow my mind and settled more in the land of just OK.... "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Annalie Plaetz | 1/14/2014

" Not the best of the In Death series, but okay. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Laura Peace | 1/2/2014

" So obviously not written by Robb/Roberts. You'd think she'd make sure to choose a ghost writer who was familiar with her style. Sheesh. "

" This was not one of my favorites, but I've noticed that the shorter anthology stories tend to not be. But it did inspire me to get back into the series after a few months off. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Betsy | 8/19/2012

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Shae | 7/9/2012

" This story was missing all of the regular awesomeness of the other ones. Because it was so short, I couldn't really get in to it, or care overmuch for the victims. "

" One of the short stories from a four-author anthology. I've not yet read any of the other short stories in these books and wasn't inclined to do so on this one either. Not a big fan of the vampire/monster/supernatural stories. "

" This was a great JD Robb book. JD Robb's mysteries are always a book I read in 1 or 2 days because I do not want to put the book down. She is fun writer and it is a light read. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Shirl | 4/28/2011

" I like how Eve's softer, more emotional side is coming out in the later books in the In Death Series. Could've used more of it based in Ireland, but that's a personal preference, not a flaw.
All in all a good read, hard to put the book down. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Karen | 4/18/2011

" I really enjoy this series. This book was as well written, engaging, and as fun to read as the rest. Keep them coming!! (er, as in, more books please) "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Stephanie | 4/16/2011

" Eve and Roarke in fine form. One of the best of this long-running series. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Skoo | 4/15/2011

" This wasn't my favorite Death book. I really liked the beginning, but it lagged big time in the middle, and raced to the finish, and had an abrupt ending. It seemed to take me a long time to read this one.
