While developing a new system to maintain Morganville's defenses, student Claire Danvers discovers a way to amplify vampire mental powers. Through this, she's able to reestablish the field around this vampire-infested Texas college town that protects it from outsiders.
But the new upgrades have an unexpected consequence: people inside the town begin to slowly forget who they are—even the vampires. Soon, the town's little memory problem has turned into a full-on epidemic. Now Claire needs to figure out a way to pull the plug on her experiment—before she forgets how to save Morganville.

"This is the 9th book in this series and I truly loved this one. It started out a little bit slow but really got better after the 3rd chapter. From then on it was go go go and I loved it. I loved that it got deeper into the past of each of the characters and gave us more insight into them. The best part was the end.... I can't wait to see how the next book will tell me how Shane will handle what happened at the end of this one. Really good book. "

Claire's tough-girl attitude may remind adult readers of Rachel Morgan and her world of human-vampire interactions.
— Booklist" I absolutly love Rachel Caine stories her and series! I have to admit I was dissapointed when I read this book. It sounded good but it seemed like Rachel writting took a dip and the story just didn't match up with to the other eight. I was dissapointed "
— Jolene, 2/6/2014" Liked this story better than the last one. "
— Mary, 1/6/2014" Starts off a little slower than the others, but still ends up with a lot of action! Overall, a GREAT series!! "
— Jackie, 12/20/2013" really good.. I really felt bad for Claire that almost nobody remembered her... damn cliffhanger ending "
— Alissa, 12/15/2013" ahhh i hate waiting, and i am sorry rachel but i hate that it is hardcover! i won't be buying it until it is paperback which means when i want to read it again, which i will, i will have to rent it again! aside from all that it was really really good! "
— Gretchen, 12/8/2013" As with all of her books you will enjoy it if you like vampire stories. "
— Philip, 10/7/2013" out of the 10 books out this one is definitely my favorite. I love myrnin, i think he's amazing and he makes me smile. I just love how the book is full of surprises and keep you on the edge of your seat moments and i really round it hard to put the book down. "
— Lauren, 10/6/2013" These books are like potato chips--empty calories but so tasty and fun. I'll just keep reaching for another one! "
— Jaime, 8/18/2013" What an ending! I can't wait till Bite Club. "
— Ashlee, 6/6/2013" I gave this 5 stars because it had such an unusual and thrilling twist to it. The last few books or so didn't really keep me interested throughout, but this one did. The whole town losing three years of their memory/life slowly and gradually, including the vampires, made it a whacky, fun read! "
— Liz, 5/28/2013" Love this one the most out of all of them "
— Meghan, 2/23/2013" Wow....I picked this up from the library around 2, and I just finished it. Fan frickin tastic. Only problem is that now I have to wait for the next one. "
— Jennifer, 11/15/2012" i started off not liking this as much as some of the others in this series but then once i got into it i found i had enjoyed it as i just love the characters in this series i always want to know what they are up to "
— ~Kate~, 10/31/2012" This series is just amazing. I read twilight and had yet to find a book that even remotely compared to the series as far as I was concerned. Everything was too "teen"-ish for me, but this series has everything..without that immature feel. I started and read the first 3 in a matter of days! "
— Shayna, 7/25/2012" I stayed up all night reading this book. It was so good I couldn't put it down. "
— Alicia, 7/20/2012" I just love this series, every book is action packed and never a dull moment, it is by far my favorite YA vampire series. "
— Kaz., 6/4/2012" This book really puts the charater's trust to the ultimate test. Rachel Caine does an exquisite job of showing how hard it is on their relationships. Even though something is temperary doesn't necisarily mean it doesn't feel like forever. "
— Natasha, 1/4/2012" The end of this book was a total "errrr" moment. Now cant wait to get the next book. I love this series! "
— Gina, 11/7/2011" I love all of Rachel Caine's books. "
— Robin, 5/23/2011" I though the first 2/3's of this book went on and on and on.......and on. If it wasn't for the last 1/3 and how flipping fantastic it was I would have given this 3 stars. It was so fantastic that it made the first 2/3's worth it. "
— Wesley, 5/21/2011" Quick and enjoyable as ever. I'll be sad when this series ends, fluffy and diverting as it is! "
— Caroline, 5/16/2011" I absolutly love Rachel Caine stories her and series! I have to admit I was dissapointed when I read this book. It sounded good but it seemed like Rachel writting took a dip and the story just didn't match up with to the other eight. I was dissapointed "
— Jolene, 5/15/2011" This series instantly throws me to another world. "
— Bharti, 5/12/2011" Creepier than usual, especially in a series so long and so full of creepiness! Caine has shockingly avoided what too many series writers do: get sloppy and tired towards the finals or never-ending acts in their series. "
— Aliza, 5/4/2011" I really enjoyed this book and will definitely pick up some of the others in the series. "
— Kathleen, 5/2/2011" The end of this book leaves u hanging, and I can't wait for the next book! LOVE this series!! "
— Kathryn, 4/30/2011" I loved it!!! Best book of the series. Can't wait to read the next one!! "
— Khaytie, 4/28/2011" I honestly, was starting to get uninterested in this series..until I read this book. I think this is the best book in the series so far. The allure of mystery and suspense drove this novel. This was longer than the previous novels in the series and it seemed to be more well-thought out. "
— Sydney, 4/21/2011" Few twist. Never thought it would end that way. LOVE THIS SERIES!!! Ready for the next book. Can't wait to see how it all ends too. "
