Publisher Description

Vampire Michael Glass just received the call he's been waiting for all his life. His music has attracted the attention of a heavily connected music producer who wants him to cut a demo and play some dates—which means that Michael will have to enter the human world.

But he won't be alone. He's been assigned an undead escort, which includes immortal enforcer Oliver, as well as Michael's human friends: rebellious Eve, oft-misunderstood Claire, and courageous Shane. And with that mix of personalities, this is going to be a road trip from hell.

But what waits for them proves more perilous than they thought. Caught between humans who hate them and a savage party of traveling vampires out to create a blood-soaked feast for themselves, Michael and his friends may not make it to the show on time...or ever.

"Okay now the 8 book in the series they get out on a road trip and you would think that would be a good thing. But wait this is Claire, Shane, Michael, and Eve and you know it cannot be that easy at all. Well this was a good book and Rachel Caine keep to her good writing and even when they get out the trouble for the 4 of them does not stop. They can get into trouble even at a rest stop. But they do make it to Dallas in the end but they must go back and you knew that was coming. Good book and I will be moving on to the next book now. "

" 4-1/2 stars. A bit of a slow start - although this seems to be the case with almost all of these books - but once the kids get out of town, the action is non-stop. Great entry in the series. Lots of Oliver's snarky humor, more on Morley, and Claire grew quite a bit in this book. I can't wait to see where Claire goes from here. "

" I liked how Claire'strength is shown in the book. Her and Micheal have more in commone because they are always the ones saving the others. I would have liked to have Mynrin in the book more, but it was still good. Jason and Oliver made the story more interesting as well. I'm glad Oliver has more emotion, at least toward Claire, sometimes. "

" I can't really remember what happened in which book but I do know that overall I really enjoy this series. I am getting tired of the constant drama and really want them to have their happily ever after though. "

" Another rollicking good vampire time in Morganville...er Dallas. Michael has an offer to record music in Dallas and Amelie gives permission for all four to attend. The road trip with the hated Oliver as a chaperone is a typical day in the life of Claire, Eve, Shane and Michael - one thing after another, danger, danger, danger. Loved it! "

" By book 8, everyone reading is already a fan, in it for the long haul. So what is there to say? I missed Myrnin. Eve was kind of annoying, she gets on Claire's case a lot. But a good time was had by all. :) "
