In the small college town of Morganville, vampires and humans lived in (relative) peace—until all the rules got rewritten when the evil vampire Bishop arrived, looking for the lost book of vampire secrets. He's kept a death grip on the town ever since. Now an underground resistance is brewing, and in order to contain it, Bishop must go to even greater lengths. He vows to obliterate the town and all its inhabitants—the living and the undead. Claire Danvers and her friends are the only ones who stand in his way. But even if they defeat Bishop, will the vampires ever be content to go back to the old rules, after having such a taste of power?

"Like all the books so far this one picks up where the last one left off and we start with everything all in shambles. Claire is under Bishop's control and she spends the whole book trying to get out of it. Love that finally her and Shane move forward in their relationship (it's about time) that's all I have to say. The end was good all is right in the world well as can be living in Morganville you know. Can't wait to see where Rachel Caine take us next in the series. "

" The book is the it is what it is. Dr wolf and I knew it would end the only way it could end. Cameron goes to ANOTHER STATE AND STARTS HIS LIFE ALL OVER Again with certain people. No day! Why 11 years 5 months in a worthless SNOWGLOBE. Life for Cameron could have started again in 2015 or 2016. Wasted 5 YEARS of Cameron's life due to the selfishness of Ferguson and Brata scum Let me go to NORTH CAROLINA TOMORROW. "
— Cameron Carnegee Ascention, 9/9/2021" Loved this book- Admittedly I started reading the Morganville Vampire series thinking "ok this is a little farfetched" - but they got me completely hooked. This one was by far my fav - I am in love with Myrnin- he makes the series for me - as soon as he was introduced this has become one of my favorite series. Everyone else is great too. "

— Edyta, 1/27/2014" I thought it was a great book "
— Kirsty.k, 1/19/2014" It had a slow start, but in the end they kind of ended most of story lines that had been loose hurriedly, and mostly killed the bad guys, so im excited for the new winds to start blowing in Morganville. There must rise a new bad clown to ooze sinister agendas all over the place, maybe couple of kick-ass but loveable dudes, to make thing interesting for Claire and Shane? Well see, will see. "
— Mailis, 1/14/2014" *pom pom dance for Shane and Claire* Woo!! "

— Megan, 8/23/2013" I think I am just over this series. Maybe it's because I mostly stick to trilogies.... but this far into the series and I feel the last few books are just repeated ideas. Boring (if war can be boring). "

— Wesley, 5/17/2011" Good read, totally crazy. All kinds of vampire warfare and rioting humans. Clare finally gets laid, there for a while I was starting to feel sorry for her then it finally happened!! "
