Publisher Description

Thanks to the eradication of the draug, the vampires of Morganville have been freed of their usual constraints. With the vampires indulging their every whim, the town's human population is determined to hold onto their lives by taking up arms. But college student Claire Danvers isn't taking sides, considering she has ties to both humans and vampires.

To make matters worse, a television show comes to Morganville looking for ghosts, just as vampire and human politics collide. Now, Claire and her friends have to figure out how to keep the peace without ending up on the nightly news . . . or worse.

"Is this the end? I kinda felt a little lost at the end of this book. Our delightful heroine Claire Danvers has always gone one step more than anyone to try to save the "victim" of either the vampire or human race. All she wants is peace. Not too much to ask of anyone but a Morganville townsperson. Now that other vampires/draug are defeated, it seems like a good time to rebuild the town and relationships between the humans and the vampires residing in Morganville. But when the Founder/Queen turns it into a Nazi like zone, even the humans are terrifying to be around. They say "No good deed goes unpunished" they could have been speaking of the Glass House residence. Claire, Shane, Eve and even vampires Micheal and Myrnin are now on the 'we want you dead' list of EVERYBODY! If you don't have papers on you at all times, you are fair game for any vamp who want's to hunt you. And even with papers, a vampire would only be fined for killing a protected person. And the target of everyone's wrath are the Glass house kids. I hated that everyone wanted to split up...I realize that they are growing up...maybe Rachel will bring them back together 5 years older and wiser. Although Micheal will NEVER age...how will that work with his human wife, Eve? I still have a lot of questions!"

" Okay we are now on the 13th book in this series and it is told form the different points of views and I really like that. The new comers to Morganville really start to mix up the town in a bad way but it works. I did not like this book as much as the other books but I did love Myrnin but how doesn't? I really cant wait for the next book and see where Rachel Caine will take us. "

" I'm a HUGE fan of the series, so of course, I loved this one. Even though parts of it made me unhappy. Once again, there is drama in Morganville, and the members of the Glass house are put in the middle of it. There were many points of view in this, including Myrnin's. His mind is a very strange place to be. It was interesting to see how his mind worked, and it is a scary place. Other points of view given are Claire's, Michael's, Shane's, Oliver's, & Amelie's. Not the best book in the series, but still great. (My favorite will always be 'Kiss of Death'.)(view spoiler)[I will say, I'm very proud of Claire for standing her ground. I love Shane, but he screwed up big time. He should know by now that she'd NEVER do that, and neither would Michael. For him to get mad at her was wrong and stupid. And the fact that Claire & Shane will be leaving Morganville is both upsetting and exciting. Maybe they can have that future together with a baby girl and not always have to fight Pain-in-the-ass Vamps/Humans.I was really happy that Michael and Eve stayed together. I felt SO horrible for Eve and the people that did what they did to her should be punished. Assholes.(hide spoiler)] "

" I finally got time to finish this book and I am glad I did. It was a really good book. It was a nice change from some of the other recent ones that were action action action. They were almost tiring to read but still good. Haha This one had things constantly going on and you knew that but it wasn't so much in your face.. it was subtle but there and I liked that. The previous book was subtle like that as well which made for a refreshing change. The ending on this one almost felt like she tied it all up in a neat little end-bow.. just enough questions that she can continue the series but also tied up well enough she doesn't -have- to.. I certainly hope she does though!! "
