  • “[Big Little Lies] is remarkably new and fresh and winning…Moriarty keeps this high-concept plot aloft, largely because she infuses it with such wit and heart. She also knows not to overplay the message she’s sending: that we all tell lies—to each other and, more importantly, to ourselves.”

    Amazon.com, editorial review

  • “[A] darkly comic mystery surrounding a disastrous parents’ night at an elementary school fundraiser…[in which] the truth remains tantalizingly difficult to sort out. Deservedly popular Moriarty invigorates the tired social-issue formula of women’s fiction through wit, good humor, sharp insight into human nature, and addictive storytelling.”

    Kirkus Reviews (starred review)

  • “If you don’t know Liane Moriarty’s vastly entertaining novels, this impeccable audio production is the perfect place to start. I have a crush on the way Caroline Lee pronounces a long ‘o’; it can have about four syllables in it, to marvelous effect. Moriarty’s multilayered tale is set in a middle school community in a Sydney beachfront suburb, and to hear it in Lee’s down-under accent adds a flavor of Oz you’d miss on the page. Moriarty does social comedy about truly serious matters—here it’s bullying, from kindergarten playground to spousal battering—and her tonal control is masterful. Lee’s unusual vocal timbre coupled with outstanding acting makes this a listening experience you can’t tear yourself away from. What a delight. Winner of AudioFile Earphones Award.”

" Y'all! Big Little Lies is one of the best books I've read in a long time. Liane Moriarty is a great author and I would suggest this book for anyone who enjoys a good novel about PTA mothers who are all up in each other's business. I haven't seen the HBO movie Big Little Lies but I can't imagine it's better than the book. Moriarty knows how to reel the reader in and as is the case with many of her books she is a master at the plot twist. I loved this book! And of course, Caroline Lee is an awesome narrator. "

" We watched a couple of the episodes on HBO first. We wanted a good book to listen to for a long road trip. It was crazy, because after several hours of driving,we'd start listening (again). at the hotel. It's the audio book you can't stop listening too! The narration is wonderful, very funny and charming. The story sucks you in and that's what makes it so good..We loved it!! "
