Publisher Description

He comes to her more dead than alive, a towering black-clad stranger riddled with bullets and rapidly losing blood. As she struggles to save him, veterinarian Tess Culver is unaware that the man calling himself Dante is no man at all but one of the Breed, vampire warriors engaged in a desperate battle. In a single erotically charged moment, Tess is plunged into his world—a shifting, shadowed place where bands of Rogue vampires stalk the night, cutting a swath of terror.

Haunted by visions of a dark future, Dante lives and fights like there is no tomorrow. Tess is a complication he does not need—but now, with his brethren under attack, he must shield Tess from a growing threat that includes Dante himself. For with one reckless, irresistible kiss, she has become an inextricable part of his underworld realm...and his touch awakens her to hidden gifts, desires, and hungers she never knew she possessed. Bonded by blood, Dante and Tess must work together to thwart deadly enemies, even as they discover a passion that transcends the boundaries of life itself.

"much better than book 1! I am so impressed how Adrian Lara made a come back on these vamps! So this is book 2 of the breed vampires and I liked how this story was written. Dante has been haunted by a death vision and is afraid to really live because of his vision. I loved Dante he proved to be a warrior and a lover. I already have book 3 in hand hoping that the author continues to get better.easy read knocked this out quit quickly with much interest in the plot."

Quotes

  • “Dark, edgy and passionate, an irresistible vampire romance.”

    — Chicago Tribune
  • “Vibrant writing heightens the suspense, and hidden secrets provide many twists. This is a dark, steamy tale filled with intricate plotlines; it stands easily on its own outside of the series…Kiss of Crimson is a winner and will have readers eager for the next Midnight Breed story.”

    — Romance Reviews Today
  • “A culture war is beginning, and the casualty count may be high in this gut-wrenching new paranormal series by hot talent Adrian. By combining hot sensuality with emotional drama and high-stakes danger, she ensures that her latest is terrific supernatural entertainment.”

" I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author spent time developing not just the main characters, but also the secondary characters in so far as what they were thinking and feeling related to the main plot. I enjoyed the attention to detail, but not too much detail. This book and the author exceeded my expectations. "

" Lara Adrian is showing remarkable promise as a new author. Kiss of Crimson was a brilliant read. The romance between Tess and Dante left you panting, and the story line left you wanting more as well. While this could do well as a stand alone, read Kiss of Midnight first which is also brilliant. " The series was great. Very much like BBD and that is fine with me. They do follow the same "recipe" but again, that's okay. "

" Wasn't real keen on Book 1 of this series but thought I would persist. I admit book two is better, I like Dante and enjoy that there is more depth of character here. Still have not been able to connect with the characters like I have with other series IE BDB or even Breeds. I can't really put my finger on what exactly is wrong ..the emotions ...I'm just not feeling it. The scene where Tess and Rio get confrontational is the only real burst of emotion I felt and it was pity for Rio. I am going to continue to read the series..at least book 3..and see. I'm not usually this wishy washy about a series...I just can't put my finger on where the disconnect happens "

" So I've realized that this series may be one of those "Getting better every book" type of series. I really liked this book way more then the first one. The storyline, it was more exciting. I can't wait to read whats next... "

" This is a little different kind of vampire series. While there are several kinds out there to read, this one puts a sci-fi twist on the breed. While the story has a good plot it is similar to other stories as far as they "find their mate" and there is a bad guy or society to battle. It is a good story and has a descent plot so far and I enjoyed this books. Still waiting for Book 1 to see how it begins. "
