No one writes dark romance like J. R. Ward, as evidenced by Publishers Weekly's assertion that her "erotic paranormals are ... frighteningly addictive." In Lover Enshrined, a member of the Black Dagger Brotherhood must make a decision that could save-or spell doom for- his race of vampires. Phury knows his share of pain, but can the Primale of the Chosen experience love as well?

"Well, no one wants to listen to a lot of self-centered whining but the end makes it worthwile. A lot of wackiness in their world gets straightened out as Phury finds resolution. Of course a half dozen other storylines get opened in this book, too. Next book, please!"

" I see why this one is rated lower than others in the series, although book four remains my low point. I was expecting not to like cormia for the same reason I didn't like what's her name in book four (complete lack of personality or spine) but cormia had more spunk than I thought she would. I also thought the stuff with lash was really, really interesting and will be a whole new spin on things. And tohrment is back!!! Yay!!! But, being inside the head of an addict with low self esteem was tiring. Also, the whole coitus interruptus was amusing the first time or two, but by 2/3 through, its like "really? You're going to stop yourself AGAIN?" overall I still liked phury more than Butch, probably because I felt a little sorry for him, but I wasn't dying to find out what happens to him. but, I thought it was pretty sad how everyone just dropped him. That would have made more sense had he been messing up more in the book leading up to this one, but as it was, it felt pretty sudden. At least ward didn't give cormia a crap compromise like poor Jane got in the last book. anyway, I'd probably stick with around 3.25 stars. "
— Shannon, 2/16/2014" Pretty good story. Not the best of the series though. I did enjoy it. "
— Shelly, 2/10/2014" For me, this story in the series seemed to be missing something. It didn't hold my attention nearly as much as the others in this series. It was still good just a bit off. "
— Lisa, 2/2/2014" I did enjoy this but Phury was just too much of a martyr for my liking. "
— Michelle, 1/27/2014" Not the best one from the BDB series, but good nonetheless. The ending though was one of the best form the six books. And I love Cormia, I think she's great and my second favorite only behind Bella, because hers and Zsadist story IS the best of the BDB series and they all sort of mash up in this story. I liked it and I recommend it. "
— Nina, 1/24/2014" Yea for Phury. I hope john gets what he wants, and he didn't! ok the story about Lash is stupid. This ended lame "
— Gem, 1/23/2014" I found this book very hard to read and was the first of the Black Dagger books that I didn't love. "
— Kim, 1/19/2014" Omg this ended so.perfectly. This series still.keeps getting better and better. Great and wonderful, awesome. "
— Misty, 12/30/2013" Another great one! There was a lot going on in this book. I felt like Phury's relationship got lost in this book... however I liked all the action and different storylines. There's a lot going on in this series and I'm excited to read more! "
— Jennifer, 11/12/2013" Love Phury and Cormia! Congrats to Bella and Z! Praying for Xhex and JM!!! <3 it! "
— Jen, 6/20/2013" At the beginning I wasn't sure how this book would turn out it was a little slow starting but by the end I COULDN'T put it down!!! Wow!!! Great read!! "
— Alexis, 3/23/2013" Again the Brothers captivate and thrill the reader. "
— Lucy, 10/8/2012" This book had a bit slower pace and was really hard to stay involved with the story. I felt myself thinking "come on already... Just get on with it". "
— Shelly, 9/26/2012" it was ok. I really keep reading so that I can get to John's story, and because i love Zsadist. "
— Carri, 3/14/2012" Book six I so enjoyed you, book seven.....here I come! :-) "
— Wwonkagirl, 9/26/2011" I had to take a break after this one... it was really intense... at least I thought so... "
— Gretchen, 5/18/2011" This book took me the longest to read.. I felt so angry at Phury that i just didn't want to continue , but as you know there's always good after the bad and you just have to get through those really hard chapters to get to the happy ones. "
— Aylene, 5/15/2011" Another recommend series to read if you like paranormal vamp books. It's one of those series that hard to put down! "
— Beckey, 5/15/2011" I give it 5 stars only because of the Qhuay action. "
— Lily, 5/15/2011" I loved Phury in the other books, but his struggle throughout this entire book is so depressing and sad to read. I kept thinking how much better Cormia deserved. "
— Heather, 5/14/2011" The weakest of the 6 I've read, but still enjoyable. "
— Pamela, 5/6/2011" Not my favorite of the series, but still a good story! "
