Plot Summary

With this fifth installment of the paranormal romance series Black Dagger Brotherhood, J.R. Ward continues to mesmerize her audience with these multi-layered tales of seductive vampires and immortal intrigue. In Lover Unbound, a murderous vampire Vishous lands in the care of, if not the embrace of, a human surgeon.

Cold and emotionless, Vishous has until this point only lived to avenge the death of his family. His childhood haunts him, and, as the son of a Bloodletter in his father's war camp, he plans revenge with an order of death to the vampire-hunting Lessening Society. That is, until the mortal doctor Jane Whitcomb tends to his wounds.

What begins as a healing on the physical plane soon extends its tender reach to soulful pleasures, that of which Vishous could have never before imagined.

J. R. Ward is the pen name for Jessica Rowley Pell Bird for her paranormal romance series. She uses her maiden name Jessica Bird for romance novels. Her relationship with writing began when she was a young girl, scribbling thoughts and musings in her diaries alongside short stories. Before she went to college, she wrote her first romance novel. Continuing to write during school, she majored in art history, concentrating on the medieval period. Later she received a law degree and was employed in healthcare administration. Once married, her husband encouraged her to publish her work. She enjoys writing series novels which tie together characters of previous stories.

"Although V got his happy ending (kind of, sort of) my heart still aches for him. So far he has fought harder and faced more barriers to happiness than any of the brothers. I loved that Jane was willing to give up all for him and accepted him for all that he was. And as much as unwanted to hate the Scribe Virgin, I understand now that she's as miserable as she deserves to be. Amazing story, writing, character development... It keeps getting better and better ! Moving on to Phury.."

" I liked this story. I wasn't expecting the ending at all. I had read other's reviews on how Vishous was cheated out of a mate, but I don't think that is true. Not only that, but we discover more about Vishous and his bizarre past and why he has not been seeing the future. "
