With this fifth installment of the paranormal romance series Black Dagger Brotherhood, J.R. Ward continues to mesmerize her audience with these multi-layered tales of seductive vampires and immortal intrigue. In Lover Unbound, a murderous vampire Vishous lands in the care of, if not the embrace of, a human surgeon.
Cold and emotionless, Vishous has until this point only lived to avenge the death of his family. His childhood haunts him, and, as the son of a Bloodletter in his father's war camp, he plans revenge with an order of death to the vampire-hunting Lessening Society. That is, until the mortal doctor Jane Whitcomb tends to his wounds.
What begins as a healing on the physical plane soon extends its tender reach to soulful pleasures, that of which Vishous could have never before imagined.

"Although V got his happy ending (kind of, sort of) my heart still aches for him. So far he has fought harder and faced more barriers to happiness than any of the brothers. I loved that Jane was willing to give up all for him and accepted him for all that he was. And as much as unwanted to hate the Scribe Virgin, I understand now that she's as miserable as she deserves to be. Amazing story, writing, character development... It keeps getting better and better ! Moving on to Phury.."
