Caught between the covers of a cursed story… Ever since the extraordinary events of Inkspell, when the enchanted book Inkheart drew Meggie and her father, Mo, into its chapters, life in the Inkworld has been more tragic than magical. Dustfinger is dead, having sacrificed his life for his apprentice’s, and now, under the rule of the evil Adderhead, the fairy-tale land is in bloody chaos, its characters far beyond the control of Fenoglio, their author. Facing the threat of eternal winter, Mo inks a dangerous deal with Death itself. There yet remains a faint hope of changing the cursed story–if only he can fill its pages fast enough. Inkdeath–the captivating final tale in the Inkheart trilogy.

"An amazing closing book in the Inkheart trilogy! Lots of series fall flat by the time they get to the final book, but Cornelia Funke's books get progressively better. This final book is rich plotwise--so many twists and turns that I had no idea how it would ever get worked out!--and also character-wise. Like Inkspell, it contains a lot of dark elements, but Funke creates shadows and light side by side. I love her writing. This entire trilogy is unforgettable."

" Having read the first 2 books, this had to be tackled. Loved the first book, so the second was a mandatory read, Brendan Fraser was amazing, and although Allan Corduner was extremely good, the final story was disappointing for me. Nevertheless, written well. "
— GirlintheGlades, 12/11/2024" Alot of chapters were closing within this book as the trilogy came to an end. "
— Jackie, 2/7/2014" This is the last of a trilogy. The idea around the trilogy was really creative but the books themselves were very dark (not untypical for a German writer I guess!). I felt that this last book went a little too far and pulled in too many adult issues for a young adult series. I still liked it though. "
— Liesl, 2/2/2014" surprisingly complex characterization for YA literature "
— Mat, 1/30/2014" excellent finish to the series "
— John, 1/26/2014" It was a fun read, especially the last few chapters. "
— Adrienne, 1/23/2014" First book of the series- awsome, second book- pretty good, this one- ok. Good to get the end of the story though. Funkes still one of my favorite authors. "
— Quentin, 1/14/2014" Not a disappointment. My favorite of the trilogy. "
— Alexis, 1/8/2014" I cannot believe this is the last T_T. an awesome book "
— Skye, 12/2/2013" Very fun. Funke paints a wonderful world where your wildest dreams can come true if only they are written right. "
— Adam, 11/27/2013" I got bored with this one and have not finished it but have kept it on my bookshelf to perhaps finish another time. "
— Ruth, 11/22/2013" Inkdeath was an excellent closure to the Ink Trilogy. I absolutely adored it. "
— Sophia, 9/3/2013" While these books started out rather good, by the time I reached this last book I'd re-read what I felt like was the same plot over and over. I didn't finish the book as I was having to make myself read. The first two were good but this one was wanting. "
— Gail, 6/16/2013" A fantastic ending to a fantastic trilogy. "
— Kyle, 4/27/2013" I love all three of these books. But I was little dissapointed to the enging of this book. It's good ending, but still I hoped it would've been little different. Anyway, I loved this book and Cornelia is amazing "
— Judith, 10/16/2012" I didn't know there was a third one! "
— Leslie, 8/23/2012" For once in my life I really hated this book it was to me the worst book i every read "
— Robert, 4/9/2012" This is the best out of all three books, it was really exciting. "
— Josie, 4/2/2012" I really liked reading these books, but they took me forever to get through. The plot was interesting, but I think there was so much description that made it go slow for me. I enjoyed them though. "
— Jolene, 1/28/2012" I thought that this book ended wrong...Who Maggie ended up with wasn't the one I wanted her too. I still loved this book but not as much as Inkheart and Inkspell. "
— Becca, 12/29/2011" This book was very good. It sure was exciting! "
— Amber, 10/19/2011" Lovely words, fascinating words. I just ate this book up from cover to cover. Marvelous stuff! "
— Kailey, 8/1/2011" I got really bored in the beginning Where I actually started reading a different book. (I eventually got back to it) The ending I liked. BUT It left you wondering what could of been. Which in my opinion is the best kind of ending. It let's you come up with your own happily ever after. "
— Cecilia, 6/25/2011" The final book of the series, the book focuses on the main characters as they try to fit in the Inkworld. The book is mind-boggling as the real characters are in the story world with the book's character. The series is definitely worth reading if you have spare time. "
— Anthony, 6/20/2011" Absolutely perfect. A must read. Her descriptions are fruitfully vivid. "
— Hannah, 6/19/2011" Cool ending to the series, but predictable. "
— Lexi, 6/18/2011" An amzaing ending to an amazing trilogy. Loved it. "
— Kathryn, 6/17/2011" I loved the first two books of this series but I thought this last one was quite anti-climatic and I think it focused too much on Mo when the trilogy began with mostly focusing on Meggie. It was good to read to find out the ending and continueing the story, however, it is a little dissappointing. "
— Rebecca, 6/11/2011" Great book, so glad I picked up the series again, I absolutely love her writing and liked how the book ended. "
— Natalia, 6/8/2011" I didn't want the book to end.. It was.. such a beautiful conclusion... I wanted to cried from happiness when I finish it , I really recommend this Trilogy to everyone! "
— Veronica, 6/2/2011" I did not want it to end! "
— Roxanne, 5/29/2011" Great read! I actually liked this better than the other two books. "
