"Beautiful story concept but not as well executed as it could have been in my opinion. It's a good long, yet moderately difficult read for kids just diving into the young adult genre- as such it is an excellent to read aloud for the obvious ties to the storyline. "

" The first book, Inkheart, was beautiful and engrossing. The second two were simply pale continuations of the story. It's good to know how the story ends, but... meh. "

" After the first two novels in this series, Inkdeath disappointed me. The dynamic cast lost a lot of its appeal and the traits that I loved most about many of the main characters were put to the wayside. Finishing this book became an effort rather than the enjoyment I had in the first two. "

" I just can't keep reading this book. I tried to give it some time after the depressing ending of Inkspell, but the story just isn't grabbing me. Perhaps I'll come back to it someday, but honestly if you are thinking of reading this trilogy, just read the first book and leave it there. "

" True to form, by the time the series finally ended, I didn't really care any more. I couldn't even muster up the interest to give this third volume a close read, settling for skimming to see the final disposition of Meggie, Dustfinger, and the rest. "
