New York Times best-selling author Lisa Jackson crafts the breathtaking tale of a woman haunted by disaster, unable to escape the ghosts of her past. When she was only 16, Cassidy Buchanan fell for the 19-year-old bad boy in town, Brig McKenzie-who'd had his share of run-ins with both the law and the local women. Then a terrible fire killed Cassidy's sister, and Brig was the chief suspect. Seventeen years later, an eerily similar fire seriously injures Cassidy's husband Chase, who happens to be Brig's brother. With the earlier fire still an open case, suspicion turns to Cassidy, the only person connected to both tragedies.

"Wow. this was a really good suspense book. it was labeled under romance/suspense but I would say it gears more towards the suspense part. This was a great storyline, with twist after twist! I can actually say that I did not figure out any twist or figure out any plots until it was thrown at me! That was a good thing. In books where you can pinpoint the bad guy right away.not so fun. well not in this book. I said a lot of "holy cow" (the clean version) throughout this book. If you like a good suspense then i would def reccommend this book."

— AudioFile" I know i say this a lot, but this book was amazing! The characters were great, and the story was unforgettable and so so soooooo cool! "
— Lady, 2/17/2014" Pretty good book but the characters are almost like you'd see in a B movie...just not too exciting...not too engrossing. "
— Rita, 2/15/2014" Good plot twists though the writing left something to be desired. The story jumped without much transition. "
— Elizabeth, 2/6/2014" Even though I realized that I had read this book before (I think it was under the original title: Intimacies), I read it again. A very good suspense story, good characters and a decent plot. "
— Sherry, 2/5/2014" WOW pretty much sums up my thoughts on this book. I have not even the slightest resemblance of negative or constructive criticism regarding this book. I recommend this book to anyone regardless of preferred genre! A book filled with love, betrayal, and crime, a story I cant get enough of. This is one of the only books i would ever read again. It also contains an ending no one, no matter how much you think you can, figure out! Read it, you wont regret it!! "
— Kim, 1/29/2014" I noticed this book on "recently returned" ebooks through my local library. It really held my interest and I enjoyed it so much that I plan to read additional Lisa Jackson books. "
— Char, 12/14/2013" A hard book to put down.So many twists and turns to the story it keeps you in suspense until the final pages. "
— Marion, 12/5/2013" pretty good, thought i dodn't like how Brig tricked her at the end, but eveything got better towards the end. thought it was kind of sicking to read about that type of thing. "
— Brianna, 11/15/2013" This is one of the best Lisa Jackson books I have read. The book was slow to start but it leaves you guessing through the whole book! Great storyline as well, characters were well placed and their stories were woven nicely "
— Elizabeth, 11/5/2013" The beginning of this book is quite promising, but I am disappointed with what comes next. Not my type of book. But if you like romanticise your readings with seductive pages towed by a little thriller, this might be for you. "
— Arfi, 9/24/2013" Lisa Jackson isn't a predictable author - she's a fast read! "
