"I remembered the grossness of the author's other books in New Orleans. They were good thrillers, but really horrible comments on human condition. So I was a bit reluctant to start this title. However, Rick Bentz is being "haunted" by his dead wife, phone calls, pictures in the mail. So, he flies to LA. Someone from his past is "gaslighting" him. Can he solve the mystery before Olivia is killed?"

" Crazy....far-fetched...wacky story line. "
— Kathy, 2/15/2014" I like my suspense more straightforward. I'm not much a fan of police procedure being tampered with either. There were too many things that just didn't really add up here. The characters were sterotypical and one note. It took quite a long time for this book to ramp up and then it meandered along until it was all too hastily and conveniently wrapped up in the last few pages. "
— Jodie, 2/12/2014" Good suspense thriller with some interesting twists. "
— Jennie, 1/29/2014" not a bad story though with so much of it involving LAPD, I couldn't help but make compairisons to Harry Bosche, my fave Michael Connolley detective. Thought the story line was unique and kept you guessing. BUT I have to mention that the closing sentence was one of the cheeziest things I've ever read! :( "
— Michelle, 1/14/2014" I started out very intrigued in the premise of this book. I was disappointed to find out it was part of a series because I hate picking up in the middle of something. My major complaint in this book was how everything went down in the end. I detest a book that wraps up all of its loose ends in just a couple of pages. "
— Tiffany, 1/13/2014" Okay,I very RARELY get caught off guard by the bad guy in a RS. Very rarely. This one? I totally was thrown off guard. Didn't see it coming at all. Enjoyed it quite a bit. Was expecting a bit more romance in the RS but it was still there. Enjoyed. A lot. "
— Shiloh, 1/13/2014" Typical police mystery, a bit repetitous at times "
— Grace, 12/27/2013" Hard to put down. Well written. "
— Jennifer, 11/26/2013" This was a great read. It is full of suspense and keeps you on your toes. The writing is very smooth and if you are a person who loves a story about murders and investigations then this book is for you. "
— Yasmeen, 10/31/2013" I was OK! I agree with the rating of 3 stars! I probably will read more of her books ... "
— Barbara, 10/2/2013" kinda slow and I figured out who the killer was, but all in all not too bad "
— Michelle, 10/1/2013" I thought it was boring. Pretty much the same format as her other books. I did not even finish. She is too predictable for me. "
— Murphy, 10/1/2013" Like all Lisa Jacksons books Malice was full of detail and suspense to the end. 4* "
— Julie, 1/21/2013" Good Lisa Jackson book, though not my favorite. Familiar characters and suspense was good. Thought the sub-plot of the twin murders was a waste of a story line though.....or maybe that is what her next book will be about? "
— Jennifer, 1/15/2013" This was good took me about a day and a half to read! "
— Kristin, 1/12/2013" Not horrible, but rather melodramatic with a ridiculous motivation on the part of the killer. "
— Susan, 11/30/2012" Nice little thriller. Didn't see the twist, which was appreciated. Wish she had spent a little more time on the wrap up. It felt rushed and didn't answer all my questions. This book did make me want to read the Rick Bentz series. "
— Janet, 11/25/2012" I really enjoyed this book. A good mystery. Had me guessing right up to the end. "
— Sandy, 6/1/2012" I enjoyed the suspense of this book, even if the the mystery wasn't believable. "
— D, 3/8/2012" This book kept me guessing until the end. I really wasn't close in any of my guesses where the plot finally finished. The book was fast paced and it read well. I think it could have been a little shorter though. Some of the action got repetitive. All in all though it was a good read. "
— Stacy, 1/21/2012" Weak. It's my second try with Lisa Jackson, and I'm definitely done. "

— Sue, 10/7/2011" Loved this book. Kept you on edge.
"
— Denna, 5/9/2011" The villain seemed to lack the motivation to do what he/she did. It wasn't believable in the end the way that the boat search went down. "
— Bryan, 4/25/2011" Rick is being haunted by his dead ex wife, as he begins to investigate her reappearance more people are dying. He seems to be the prime suspect in all the murders.

It was ok--a little wordy and long "
— Amber, 3/31/2011" I recently discovered Lisa Jackson when someone at work recommended Absolute Fear to me. I love her style of writing. The woman can write! Her descriptions and setting are so vivid, I feel like I'm there. She's made me a fan. "

— Eugene, 2/23/2011" Great book. I liked getting a peek into Olivia and Rick's relationship several years after the HEA in an earlier book. This one kept me guessing. Can't wait for Devious to come out. "
— Kari, 1/11/2011" This book kept me guessing until the end. I really wasn't close in any of my guesses where the plot finally finished. The book was fast paced and it read well. I think it could have been a little shorter though. Some of the action got repetitive. All in all though it was a good read. "
— Stacy, 11/5/2010" Tried to listen on tape - absolutely could not stand the voices - so switched to book.
Great read - good story.
"
