With numerous #1 New York Times bestsellers to her credit, Lisa Jackson continues to push the envelope through her trademark brand of romantic suspense. Running Scared follows a young single mother desperately trying to outrun her past.

Fifteen years ago, Kate Summers received an offer she couldn’t refuse: a newborn baby boy to adopt and call her own. Still reeling from the death of her husband and daughter, Kate accepted this little blessing and agreed to leave Boston forever and not tell a soul. She has since built a wonderful life in a small Oregon town for her and her son, Jon, but the threat of the past catching up with her haunts her daily. Now a mysterious man is in town searching for the child, a man who will go to any lengths to claim him. The only person Kate can turn to has secrets of his own—secrets tying him to the boy she loves dearly. Soon, the past Kate thought she could outrun will explode, unearthing a legacy of lies and treachery and a fury powerful enough to kill.

Moving at a lightning-quick pace, this taut thriller is enhanced by a pulse-pounding narration from acclaimed voice actor Jack Garrett.

" This is possibly one of my favorite Lisa Jackson books so far. I loved the intensity involving around the mystery of Daegan and how his past reflected upon Kate and Jon. The ending was unexpected which makes it a great mystery and I look forward to reading more of Lisa Jackson's books. "

" I like Lisa Jackson as a writer but I was a bit disappointed with this book as I think it had the potential to be better. The story was ok but it fell a little short in the excitement side of things. It had some good sections but unfortunately I felt that it was kind of boring and it dragged on for too long in others. This is the story of a 15 year old kid named Jon, who was not aware that he was given up at birth by his real mother, who was very young at the time and whose wealthy parents did not want to bring shame to their name. Kate was going through a difficult time, having lost her husband and baby girl a year earlier so she agreed to take and race Jon as hers not realizing his background, who his father was or the wealth where he really came from and all the drama that would enfold before Jon finds out that he who his real mother and father were. The story takes you back and forward through the different points of views of what each character was going through at different time and that is probably where the story fell flat in some of those areas. I really want to continue reading Lisa Jackson`s books and really hope the next one is better. "

" It was an okay read (just) but not up to Jackson's usual stories. It felt a little disjointed at times and was very predictable. "
