THE FIRST NOVEL IN THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING OTHERWORLD SERIES. “Frisky...Tells a rather sweet love story, and suggests that being a wolf may be more comfortable for a strong, smart woman than being human.”—The New York Times Book Review Elena Michaels is the world’s only female werewolf. And she’s tired of it. Tired of a life spent hiding and protecting, a life where her most important job is hunting down rogue werewolves. Tired of a world that not only accepts the worst in her–her temper, her violence—but requires it. Worst of all, she realizes she’s growing content with that life, with being that person. So she left the Pack and returned to Toronto where she’s trying to live as a human. When the Pack leader calls asking for her help fighting a sudden uprising, she only agrees because she owes him. Once this is over, she’ll be squared with the Pack and free to live life as a human. Which is what she wants. Really.

"this is one of my favourite book's ive read recently i just love Clay and Elena she is a strong person and has bite, she is the only Female wolf in the world and that has to be a weight on anyone's shoulder's especially with all the mutts running around thinking that she would be easy prey for them and an overprotective pack, a lover waiting at home for her also a big bad sexy wolf just whining for her attention and would do anything to get it even if she hates him to the bone. but is that old love still there in her heart and will it bloom more and more every time something pushes them apart."

" I absolutely love this series I have listen to them many times and never get bored. Amazing author. "
— Mikki, 6/16/2023" Overall this was a good read. The main character Elena is fun, sexy, and feisty. I enjoyed joining her on her journey of figuring out who and what she wanted. The male characters in this story are the best part. They are full of personality and their antics had me smiling the entire read. Not to mention that Clay will make any girl melt. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series! "
— Leslie, 3/30/2016" Bitten is a tremendously fun read. The first in Kelley Armstrong's series, Bitten draws you in with its supernatural premise and keeps you there with characters you can't help but want to know more about. "
— Melanie, 2/1/2014" Happy to have found a new series and ready to get reading the rest of it. "
— Gretchen, 1/29/2014" although i started this series out of order, i'm really enjoying it. i'm very happy i discovered this author. she writes about supernatural elements with effortless ease and her characters are endearing, likeable and suprizingly normal given they are all supernaturals. "
— Taneith, 1/15/2014" Pure reading pleasure from first page to last. I wish every book i picked to read would be this exciting. I Also enjoyed Kelley Armstrong's writing style; very captivating! "
— Mwanja, 1/11/2014" it was a little boring in the beginning but then it got real good and hard to put down. I think it would be better if she also wrote about vampirers and the werewolfs together. I am looking forward to the next book. "
— Anna, 1/8/2014" This is the first book in the Women of the Otherworld Series. Readers are introduced to the first of many awesome supernatural women, Elena Michels, the only female werewolf. Lover of the scariest, but somewhat socially challenged, Clayton Danvers and member of the small but important Pack. Don't want to give too much away! As the series progresses, we are introduced to more supernatural women (each book has a different narrator depending on who's story it is) and it is fun to see how all these people continue to show up in each others' lives. Must read if you love the paranormal! "
— Tk, 1/3/2014" i spent this whole book until the last couple chapters disliking the main character and then it turned around. Onto the next in the series to see what kind of a character that one will have. :) "
— Elaine, 12/24/2013" For some reason, i couldn't get into this book, i made myself keep on reading and then i stopped about a 100 pages in. I think it may have been the writing style, can't quite put my finger on it. "
— Frances, 12/24/2013" Ma chronique : ici "

— April, 12/25/2012" Part of a great series! Kelley Armstrong writes well and keeps you interested in the characters. "
— Dianne, 7/4/2011" Very solidly written were-wolf (and somewhat romance) novel. Well done, realistic and respectable characters. I enjoyed it, but nothing earth shattering I guess. "
— Krystl, 6/30/2011" Great book. Hope the next one is just as good. "
— Emily, 5/13/2011" I found the prologue difficult to get in to but once past that I really liked it...even if I knew how it would end...or more who she'd end up with and where she'd end up living... It was nice to see a kick-butt heroine in a genre full of wimpy come save me main characters. "
— Heidi, 5/13/2011" In a world over-flowing with dark romance books about supernatural creatures of the night, this is a real stand out. Elena is an compelling protagonist, and Clay is a delicious love interest. I look forward to reading more in the series. "
— Rosie, 5/13/2011" I really enjoyed this book, i do however wish that Elena was a bit more calmer and not so moody. Other then that i loved it. "
— Rachel, 5/12/2011" Fabulous book! Kelley, are you sure you don't "moonlight" as a werewolf in your spare time? ;-) "
— Mitzi, 5/12/2011" Boring boring boring. I found myself having to force read. It was terrible, I didn't even finish. "
— Jessica, 5/8/2011" I enjoyed that book, and really liked those characters. I'm gonna have to read more of this series of books ! "

— Mitsu, 5/4/2011" I love this book so much!! Kelley Armstrong is my favourite auther "
— Chloe, 5/4/2011" Loved the Canadian references, really well written and great humour!! Definitely recommend this book!

"
— Kim, 5/3/2011" Pretty good for her first book. "
— AJ, 5/2/2011" Read this 10 years ago and loved it but since then I have read other stuff by the author (it was mostly that it was more of the same, nothing bad per se) and I'm afraid of re-reading. Still, maybe. "

Frostbitten, The Gathering, and No Humans Involved were New York Times bestsellers. She believes experience is the best teacher, though she has been told this shouldn’t apply to writing her murder scenes. To craft her books, she has studied aikido, archery, and fencing. She sucks at all of them. She has also crawled through very shallow cave systems and climbed half a mountain before chickening out.
