My name is Chloe Saunders and my life will never be the same again.
All I wanted was to make friends, meet boys, and keep on being ordinary. I don't even know what that means anymore. It all started on the day that I saw my first ghost—and the ghost saw me.
Now there are ghosts everywhere and they won't leave me alone. To top it all off, I somehow got myself locked up in Lyle House, a ""special home"" for troubled teens. Yet the home isn't what it seems. Don't tell anyone, but I think there might be more to my housemates than meets the eye. The question is, whose side are they on? It's up to me to figure out the dangerous secrets behind Lyle House . . . before its skeletons come back to haunt me.

"I was very pleasantly surprised by this book! I wasn't too sure about the first couple of chapters but it only got better from there on, and by the end of the third chapter I was completely sucked in. I really liked the plot, setting and general "feel" of the book, although I felt the characters could have been a little better developed. The narration is spot on and really adds to the whole listening experience. I would recommend this book to adults who enjoy reading young adult fiction, as well as to younger teens (although I have seen some people saying it might be too scary for some younger kids)."

“New York Times bestseller Armstrong turns her skill and focus toward a new teen-based supernatural trilogy. Readers are taken on an intense and scary ride. The story’s pace is brisk, but it is the feelings of alienation and betrayal that give this launch book its knife-like edge.”
— RT Book Reviews“Suspenseful, well-written, and engaging.”
— VOYA“Terrifying ghosts, smatterings of gore, and diverse teen voices will prompt young adults to pick up the next in this series…Teen readers might scream loud enough to raise the dead.”
— Kirkus Reviews (starred review)“This suspenseful novel sets up a secret underworld where some people support and help supernaturals, while others persecute them. Armstrong combines bits of horror, teen relationships, and a dash of mystery to create a page-turner. Readers will look forward to the next installment.

— Marty, 5/11/2011Kelley Armstrong is the author of young adult fiction, paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and mysteries in stand-alone novels and over fifteen series. Frostbitten, The Gathering, and No Humans Involved were New York Times bestsellers. She believes experience is the best teacher, though she has been told this shouldn’t apply to writing her murder scenes. To craft her books, she has studied aikido, archery, and fencing. She sucks at all of them. She has also crawled through very shallow cave systems and climbed half a mountain before chickening out.
Cassandra Morris has received critical acclaim for her voice-over work from Publishers Weekly and AudioFile magazine, earning a dozen Earphones Awards and twice been a finalist for the prestigious Audie Award for best narration. Her voice has also been heard on television in commercial campaigns and numerous Nickelodeon and Disney products. She is the voice of many cartoon characters, including Leo and Luna in Yu-Gi-Oh, Carrie in Barbie: A Fairy Secret, Nathan in Pokémon, and Lola in Angelo Rules.
