How does an innocent lady find herself forced to wed a royal spy who seduced her—by mistake? For Lady Rebecca Marshall, a whirlwind of passion and excitement begins when, to her mother’s great delight, she becomes a maid of honor at the court of Queen Victoria. Rebecca’s mother sees this appointment as a golden opportunity for Rebecca to make a good match.
At court, Rebecca innocently steps into the rivalry between the queen’s spymaster and the noblewoman in charge of the maids of honor who is using the maids to spy on powerful courtiers. Soon Rebecca is entangled in a web of deceit with the charming marquis Rupert St. John. The devastatingly handsome n’er-do-well is the cousin of Raphael Locke, with whom Rebecca was once infatuated. What she doesn’t know is that Rupert is a secret agent of the crown who leads a double life.
When Rupert obtains proof that Rebecca is spying on him, he seduces her. He hardly suspects her guileless nature. Forced to the altar, Rupert believes that Rebecca has set a trap of the worst sort in order to marry into his powerful family. Although he vows never to be faithful to his beautiful wife, as Rupert comes to know Rebecca’s wit, adventurous spirit, and generous nature, his vow of revenge turns into a desire to share many passionate nights only with his wife for the rest of his life.
Warm, witty, and filled with the “deliciously sexy” (Booklist) flirtation that makes each of her bestsellers an irresistible gem, A Rogue of My Own will have listeners falling in love with Johanna Lindsey all over again!

"This was a better LIndsey book that the last one I read. This was smooth (it flowed nicely) and the characters had humor in them. I think this only took me 2 days to read. Hopefully she will use these characters in future books about this family. This will def. be a reread."

" I liked this book the best out of the whole series. This book focused on the couple, Rupert and Rebecca. The fact that he was a known rogue, who kept using his teasing on Rebecca was really amusing and made me smile several times. "
— Susan, 2/13/2014" I haven't read one of Lindsey's books in a long time so I didn't have the problem other readers did in the sense that I saw the formula and was bored by it. I definitely saw the formula, but it didn't detract from me enjoying the story of one of my only stand-by historical romance authors. "
— Anneliese, 2/3/2014" I'm a huge Johanna Lindsey fan. I've read all of her books, many of them several times. She never fails to draw me into her stories and this one was no exception. "
— Joelle, 1/20/2014" I swear Lindsey's heros are so obnoxious now I can't imagine anyone falling in love with them. Let alone her supposedly intelligent heroines. "
— Kez, 1/11/2014" Have always loved Johanna Lindsey's books - it's been a while since she wrote one - A fun no brainer read. "
— Sherri, 12/23/2013" It was an okay book...however in the end, there was little plot action nor chemsitry...I think the writing compensated for all of those missing elements. I, also, find it weird that she would name the title similiar to her 'A Cowboy of my own' (I think that's what is was titled) "
— Alex, 11/27/2013" Love this book, hope she adds more books to this series. "
— Heidi, 11/1/2013" This book was so poorly written, I could not believe it was ever published. No plot, no characters that were worth the ink used to print their names. I guess it is time to pitch this box of books and start over. "
— Frances, 10/29/2013" It has been years since I've read Johanna Lindsay - read a lot her during my late teens and early 20s. This book was thoroughly enjoyable and was a pretty quick read. The story flows well and both main characters are interesting if not immediately likeable. "
— Neema, 10/26/2013" lebih suka The Devil Who Tamed Her...tapi ceritanya oke lah. "
— Dina, 9/6/2013" It was mostly fluff, but it still held my interest and made me want to finish it in two days! "
— Kimberly, 8/30/2013" A very fast read, and a pleasant rainy day diversion, but it needed something for me to get my teeth into. It came close a couple of times but never took me there. "
— Mum, 8/22/2013" Good story, but I wasn't in love with the book. "
— Joy, 7/16/2013" Just a fun, quick read. The only thing that truly annoyed me was that this was supposed to be an historical romance, but the author used way too many modern-day cliches in the dialogue. Like, "Okay. I'll bite." Or, "Let me take my foot out of my mouth." "
— April, 7/2/2013" Pure chick lit! A beautiful and feisty virginal heroine along with a handsome roughish hero set in Queen Victoria's court. They get together, they fight.... you know the rest, but it is fun reading for a summer's day. "
— Joyce, 1/20/2013" Just completed some research on Queen Victoria, so the setting of this novel was a pleasant surprise. "
— Academicsupport, 3/24/2012" Cute hist. rom w/ strong woman char. But blah ending "
— Michelle, 3/24/2012" Mmmmmm...I got totally sucked in to not only a glimpse at life as a maid of honor in Victoria's court, but then spies! I do love a bit of spy intrigue. Unfortunately, that makes Rupert St. John a total ass because he thinks Rebecca is a big fat liar about everything. That gets a bit frustrating. "
— Melowin, 7/11/2011" Just completed some research on Queen Victoria, so the setting of this novel was a pleasant surprise. "
— Academicsupport, 5/19/2011" Good story, but I wasn't in love with the book. "
— Joy, 5/5/2011" This book was amazing. Emotions were well portrayed. She brought a new meaning to the word family, and described a strange, bittersweet love between two people. I LOVED IT! "
— Vanessa, 5/1/2011" Really liked it, although i have enjoyed her older books better for some reason...Malory series is some of her best work. I read everything she writes. "
— Trix, 4/12/2011" I am listening to this audio book and it is the first one by this author. I am on disc 2 and so far I am enjoying this book. There is humor, intrigue and romance which I find to be a nice combination. This was book was quick and fun to listen too. "
— Kristy, 4/4/2011" good story,..good romance,..but why his name was "Rupert"???,. "
— Debi, 2/25/2011" fell in love with it. lol love it wen the girl gets the rogue at the end.. ;D "
— SANDRA, 2/22/2011" A well-rounded romance. The characters were approachable and realistic, and the story was great. Johanna has a way of making her characters come to life. It is easy to get into the book and be transported to the past. "
— Pam, 2/14/2011" in love with evry reform rakes... "
— Feti, 2/10/2011" A rehash of the old "they love each other, but neither will say so" cliche. Smut novels are almost all based on cliches; the good ones have great characters or some other exceptional aspect. I just don't think Johanna Lindsey can do that. "
— Lindsay, 1/27/2011" masih bolak-balik halaman aja
belum tertarik baca dari awal setelah baca endingnya
*loh?!?*
;p
yah, intinya Reid family ini seharusnya ga dijadiin serial. cuma ceritanya Ophelia yang bagus ;p "
— Asrina, 1/11/2011" dah kelar baca...lumayan jga nih cowoknya setipe sama dimitri (secret fire)...

"
— annisa, 12/27/2010" Story is not believable at all. No romance, all arguing!! "
