Devastated by her mother’s death, eighteen-year-old Gabrielle Brooks sets sail from England to a Caribbean island in search of her estranged father. But instead of encountering a distinguished merchant ship’s captain, she discovers her father has become a pirate! After spending three wonderful years sailing and treasure hunting with him, Gabrielle is dismayed when her father decides she must return to London to find a proper husband. His old friend James Malory will sponsor her in polite society. In London, Gabrielle is escorted to balls and parties by James Malory’s wife, Georgina, and her brother, Drew Anderson, a dashing American sea captain who is visiting. Though drawn to Gabrielle’s fiery beauty, Drew, a fun-loving rogue, wants nothing to do with a young woman hunting for a husband. Incensed by Drew’s indifference, Gabrielle is determined to win his attentions. But when Drew embroils her in a scandal the night before he’s to sail back to America, Gabrielle vows revenge. Enlisting the help of her father’s pirate cronies, Gabrielle commandeers Drew’s ship and takes him prisoner. But as passion runs high on their sea voyage, it becomes difficult to tell who is truly the captor and who is the captive.

"I loved this book, so intriguing and definitely funny (and fun)! Biggest downfall was the extremely rushed ending! It definitely left me wanting to know a little bit more about what happens to the main characters! All in all, the ending was still good. I have heard that Johanna's other books are much better so in saying that my review and stars may rate lower however, I've never read a book like this before (pirates and their enevitable style of simply acting like such normal humans)so I feel like my rating might not decrease that drastically."

" Ah, another Malory... read the others several ages ago and greatly enjoyed this tale of pirates and strong men. Perfect entertainment for a day spend ill in bed. Reminded me at times of the one in which George acts as a cabin boy... I probably would have enjoyed it less if I hadn't had a few years in between reading that and this. So now Drew Anderson has succombed to wedlock - leaves only Boyd, I think. "
— penelopewanders, 2/20/2014" I did not like this one very much. Didn't like the love interest for Drew at all. I did like the other visits from the other characters. "
— Julie, 1/31/2014" I think I'm getting tired of reading about heroes that are such selfish jerks. "
— WiLoveBooks, 1/23/2014" Not my usual novel but good. "

— Erotic, 11/22/2013" It was really good, after the first Malory book i've read this one didn't quite compare to how good the first one I read was. I still liked it though I'm a sucker for happy ever afters. "
— Gaylene, 10/21/2013" very steamy for sure! not a whole lotta "love" but tons of passion! very sexy man beautiful woman and chemistry out the rear end... hot hot hot! "

— Amanda, 4/17/2011" so yeah, I'vebeen on a bit of a romance kick but really it's more of a Lindsey kick...A Mallory kick to be exact. Pure indulgence and escapism. I really need a job. "
— Jek, 4/12/2011" Love at first sight books are not my favorite. I find it too hard to believe in. At least in this book the first sight was showing some personality traits via the activity she was doing. "
— Lunasea, 2/13/2011" The setting for the book was great a bit more nautical terms would have added more interest for me. I enjoyed the drama surrounding the love story and the fact that they didn't fall in love right away very nice adding to the suspense of when will it happen. "
— Elaine, 1/16/2011" story plot was kinda boring.... wish there was more interaction within the main characters... "
