She’s stuck with Jack.…
Lorraine Dancy has just discovered that everything she believes about her father is a lie—starting with the fact that Thomas supposedly died years ago. Now she’s learned that not only is he not dead, he’s living in a small town south of the border. In the process of tracking him down, she manages to get framed for theft and pursued by the real thief, the police, and a local crime boss. Her father’s friend Jack Keller agrees to help her escape, although Lorraine’s reluctant to depend on a man like him.
And he’s stuck with her!
Jack’s every bit the renegade Lorraine thinks he is—an ex-mercenary and former Deliverance Company operative. He’s also the one person who can guide her to safety. But there are stormy waters ahead, including an attraction neither of them wants to feel. An attraction that’s as risky as it is intense—for both of them. The sooner he can get Lorraine home, the better!

"Started this book last night because I couldn't sleep. Ended up staying awake until I finished it. It held my attention to see what happened next in this romantic mystery. There were a few moments that I wondered what else could possibly happen to these characters. Really a fast, east, great read!"

“If you love women who hold their own in any adventure…you’re going to love this tale.”
— BookPage" I don't know if I was listening to an abridged BOT, but this was very sad. "
— Slone, 2/11/2014" A little too romancing the stone. "
— Lori, 1/25/2014" a good chick flick. even though its not really a flick....what would you call a girly book?? "

— Hirosasazaki, 1/8/2014" I really enjoyed this one, couldn't put it down. It had just enough action and adventure. "
— Megan, 12/2/2013" The book I read was titled "The Sooner the Better." I started reading it and the book was interesting for awhile and then it got really really trite and though the plot could have been good thee was no mystery to it at all and I skipped through quite quickly just to see how it ended. "
— Sherry, 11/21/2013" Although we know how the book will end, the twists and turns keep you involved. I enjoyed this book a lot. "
— Holly, 10/27/2013" This was a really great story. I found myself not being able to put it down. The connection between Jack and Lorraine was amazing. I loved the adventure, and the strong will of both. "
— Connie, 10/4/2013" Once again, Debbie Macomber did not let me down. Not like the other titles of hers I read, a little more adventure this time but once again she kept me entertained page after page till the end. Makes you ready for the next chapters in the characters life, not wanting the title to end. "
— Cindy, 9/21/2013" Finished in the airport at Denver. Good story. "
— Linda, 5/28/2013" Super fun, one day read. "
— Mandy, 5/24/2013" A great closer to the Deliverance Company Trilogy! "
— Sarah, 4/4/2013" ehhh more of the same the best of the series of three but again not engaging at all, just not my type of book I much prefer the cedar cove series. "
— Michelle, 2/14/2013" The Sooner the Better was an easy, but enjoyable read. It was a bit predictable but did have some twists toward the end. It's a good book to read on a slow, lazy day when you just want to read something for quick entertainment. "
— Jan, 2/12/2013" Romance novel to read on the plane - It's an interesting twist on the 'good' girl & 'bad' guy. Held my attention more that the last book I read of hers. "
— Kathy, 12/28/2012" Great book. Not your usual Debbie Macomber from Cedar cove. Lots of suspense and easy to read. "

— Moey17, 11/28/2011" Quick read with just the right amount of romance and suspence. "
— Allison, 9/11/2011" This book was very different from what DM usually rights, but it was good and a little refreshing. "
— Christine, 2/25/2011" Not my favorite Debbie Macomber, action/suspense is not her strongsuit, but as always she delivered with likable characters & a comfortable read. "
— Loni, 1/7/2011" Yet another renamed, repackaged old book. My copy is called "The Sooner, the Better." So far, enjoyable tho. "
— Janis, 1/3/2011" Loved this book! Found it a difficult-to-put-down read. A little better than a four-star read for me. "
