Blair Mallory, last seen in To Die For, has already survived one murder attempt. Now, while planning her wedding and dealing with holiday-season madness, Blair once again dodges a bullet. Or, more precisely, a Buick. And though the driver’s identity remains a mystery, his or her murderous intentions are all too clear.
Or are they? After all, Blair’s homicidal ex-husband and his partner-in-crime/wife are safely behind bars. And even Wyatt Bloodsworth, Blair’s police detective groom-to-be, isn’t inclined to believe she’s being targeted again. All of which makes Blair wonder if her close call was simply a mishap. But the wondering stops when she narrowly cheats death again in another seemingly innocent accident. Two strikes is all it takes to convince Blair that she’s back in someone’s crosshairs. And the only thing more frightening is that Wyatt still doubts her. That means this time no one will be watching Blair’s back when she sets out to get the drop on her would-be killer—before whoever it is finally drops her.

"I like Blair. She can be impossible and hilarious and totally right at the same time. She and Wyatt have great chemistry and I feel like their relationship is very realistic. I love their fights and I like seeing Blair's thought process because, let's face it, I do the same things sometimes. And yes, Krispy Kreme bread pudding recipe at the end. This one is high on my list of Linda Howard books."

" I was disappointed with the main character in this book. She seemed way to whiny, and nit picky. In the first book I thought she had potential to be a kick ass woman I was disappointed. The male lead character also frustrated me because he didn't listen to her and seemed to just do whatever the heck he wanted ugh! "
— Nicci, 1/26/2014" It was alright, but like To Die For, some of its contents confused me.......... "

— Alicia, 2/11/2013" I enjoy the humour in Linda Howard's books... her books are a light read and that's exactly what's needed every now and again. She makes me laugh and the sex scenes are great too! "
— Bridget, 12/2/2012" it was an easy read "
— Jwk, 10/24/2012" Sequel to "To Die For" was pretty funny, plus it includes the recipe for Blair Mallory's famous Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding, how great is that? "
— Ann, 10/15/2012" OK, it's been a while since I read this, but I remember being extremely annoyed by Blair, she is a very chick-lit-y character, unusual for Linda Howard. I also HATED what's his name, alpha-guy, and his planet-killing giant SUV and fridge-temperature air conditioning. "
— MostlyDelores, 6/9/2012" Book 2 I guess I just like the way this woman thinks and talks. And although she is quite "randy" there is not an over abundance of description in that department! "
— Cary, 1/22/2012" Slightly better than the first book . . don't think I'll go out of my way to read anything more by Linda Howard. "
— Denise, 1/14/2012" This is a fun read. The main character is a very strong independent, high maintenance woman. Her self talk moments made me laugh! Read if you enjoy a good mystery and a good laugh "
— Alyson, 12/27/2011" Hmm.. well it's an easy read and one of those cute, romantic/suspense novels where it doesn't require a lot of brain juice to focus on the plot. "
— Janice, 6/27/2011" Eh, in my opinion, not one of Howard's best. The "southern woman" thing just doesn't work for me, a little too kitschy. "
— Marianne, 5/13/2011" I, in fact, did not finish this book. It was too boring. I don't like the way Ms. Howard writes. I didn't like the characters. Blair is too whiny and conniving and juvenile. Wyatt is more of a support character. "
— Barb, 5/2/2011" I really quite enjoyed this book. Blair made me laugh out loud so many times while reading this book. She is a true southern belle and she drove Wyatt crazy with her antics most times. It was a fun read and the suspense of finding out was trying to kill her was interesting. "
— Diana, 4/3/2011" I just love Blair. "
— Heather, 3/23/2011" Even better then To Die For "
— Season, 1/9/2011" This was a funny and sexy book . It is a great read and I recommend it to all . "
— Bonnie, 12/26/2010" Not a big fan of this one. Didn't dig the first person, and didn't really dig the heroine. I just didn't find her particularly...likeable. "
— Elise, 12/20/2010" It was alright, but like To Die For, some of its contents confused me.......... "
— Kristin, 12/2/2010" Book 2 I guess I just like the way this woman thinks and talks. And although she is quite "randy" there is not an over abundance of description in that department! "
— Cary, 11/20/2010" Narrated by Joyce Bean

I was so pleased that they changed the narrator for the second book featuring Blair and Wyatt. This was a much better Blair! "
