"I really enjoyed reading this book Lisa Jackson knows how to tell a story - This book had me going till the end - Cissy/Jack/Marla & Elyse seemed real to me. I had figured out who Elyse was about 1/3 way through the book - the ending now that was a surprise. I just came across another 1 of Lisa Jackson's books and will be reading it soon"

" I'm not sure I will be reading anymore Lisa Jackson books as I've found the more I read them, the weaker I find them. I felt this one especially was really, really repetitive. Cissy would tell Jack to leave, he would stay, she would accept it. The next morning she would 'come to her senses', he would leave - then return the same day, and she would make weak protests and accept it. Meanwhile her family members are getting bumped off so a bit of the chapter would be about that and how Cissy was panicking. Combined with the constant talk of the murderer trying to convince the escapee prisoner to move around the house (I'd like to know how many times the phrase "keep the curtains/blinds/drapes closed" was written) and straight up rude comments from Jack's sister (and barely anyone calling her out on it...) I just felt like I was reading the same chapter over and over with a new family members name put in as the murder victim. It was not interesting. "

" Usually I find Lisa Jackson's books to be taut and thrilling from the start, but this one seemed rather flabby at first. The heroine, Cissy Cahill Holt's character referred to her soon to be ex-husband's aftershave fragrance three or four times. The mother seemed at first to be more of a villainess, but sort of wimped out. There were some suspenseful scenes, but overall, I was disappointed in the character development. I left the paperback at a Hardee's in southern Virginia--hopefully it will be picked up by someone who might enjoy it. "

" Thought it was a boring dull book with surprisingly dumb characters.... especially for a Lisa jackson book. Usually I find her very interesting with her creepy plot twist and deranged killers. I was just about to give this book up for CRAP when she shocked me with a surprising creepy twist! That's my girl! sadly, you have to waist hours of your life to get there. "
