Ever since her father was stabbed to death in a home invasion, Julia Jules Farentino has been plagued by nightmares. Her half-sister, Shaylee, now seventeen, has had her own difficulties since the tragedy, earning a rap sheet for drug use, theft, and vandalism. Still, when Jules learns of her mother's decision to send Shay to an elite boarding school in Oregon, she's skeptical. Blue Rock Academy has a reputation for turning wayward kids around - but one of its students went missing a few months earlier and her body has never been found.

On impulse, Jules applies for a teaching job at the Academy. Shortly before Jules arrives, a student is found hanged, another near death, and a hysterical Shay believes it's murder. Then another girl is found dead. There's no doubt something sinister is at hand. And Jules has become the next target of a bloodthirsty killer without limits, without remorse, without mercy...

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Kay | 1/5/2014

" This book was okay. Not really anything special. Even with having murders in it, it still lacked action and sense of urgency to me. It was very predictable and I guessed who the killer was right after the first murder. I do think teens would like the storyline and the romance between the two main characters. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Madeline | 1/4/2014

" Jackson writes a good thriller usually. This was a tad too long but got really good at the end! "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Macjest | 1/1/2014

" I thought that this book was a little uneven in it's execution. I found certain details very hard to believe. For instance, the main character gets a job at the school where her half-sister has been sent. The school never discovered that the two were related. I did keep reading because I wanted to find out what would happen next. I just had to suspend a lot of disbelief while I was reading. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Sharon Pacheco | 12/23/2013

" I don't think much of this book. The story line was very lame. I also have a problem with stupid women characters. Everyone of the women in this book was stupid. Not sure if I will read Lisa Jackson again. "

" Predictable and ant-climatic. Took the first 200 pages just to develop the storyline, long & drawn out. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Michele | 11/5/2013

" This was an exciting book. However, the ending is slightly unbelievable. Parents send their disturbed school to a school in Oregon. But there is a killer doing away with students. "

" I'm a big Lisa Jackson fan, but I didn't enjoy this book as much as her others. The style of the writing made it take a while for things to pick up in the story, but at least there was an unexpected twist at the ending. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Kathy | 11/11/2012

" This book has a lot of suspenseful twists & turns and you keep wondering 'who done it'? It shows the love you can have for your family no matter what and the lenghths you will go to for that love. Lisa Jackson's characters are colorful and kept me guessing till the end. "

" I truly feel as if many modern authors have a template most of them follow. The only changes are the names which get cornier as time goes on. The plot is dreadfully predictable as is the dialogue. They sort of change the plot but they all follow the same rythym. BORING!!! DRIBBLE!! "

" Overall the story line was intriguing but I found it easy to put down & took a long time to finish just because I only picked it up sporadically. The ending was a little too corny. The twist at the end was a little too desperate. "
