Publisher Description

New York Times best-selling author Lisa Jackson revives two characters from her popular novel Deep Freeze in this sequel. Her heart-pounding crime novels are famous for their thrilling romances, and Fatal Burn turns up the heat. Last time we met her, Shannon Flannery struggled to prove her innocence when blamed for her husband's death. Now Shannon is sure someone is trying to kill her, but the only person who believes her is former Special Forces agent Travis Settler. When Shannon's daughter Dani-who she was forced to give up for adoption long ago-goes missing, he becomes convinced that secrets from Shannon's past are the reason for Dani's disappearance. A series of arsons and unsolved murders also appear to be connected to Shannon's family. Lisa Jackson injects every scene with drama as Shannon again attempts to save her name with only one man on her side. George Guidall's reading keeps the flames burning in this thrilling listen. "A tight, twisty plot catapulting toward a fiery conclusion will please fans and should earn Jackson new ones."-Publishers Weekly

"Fatal Burn was an intense read. I loved it and couldn't put it down. It is finally official, after finishing this book I've read every one of Lisa Jackson's romantic suspense novels, plus a few of her contemporary romance. Now, I have to wait till Left to Die comes out so I can get my Jackson fix. Though I had the 'killer' narrowed down to 2 possibilities half way through the book, and one of those was right, I was still surprised when the big reveal took place. Fatal Burn grabs you from the first page and doesn't let go."

" Good story.. lots of twists and turns. It was a bit longer than it really needed to be, but it didn't get boring. I liked the characters, especially whip-smart Dani - the young kidnap victim. I enjoy Lisa Jackson's writing style... it just flows and doesn't feel forced or over-embellished. I also appreciate that she doesn't have the hero and heroine jump into bed after 2 chapters. They end up there, of course... but the timing feels right and not rushed. Good story! "

" Not as good as Deep Freeze, even though Lisa Jacksons books are usually local, which are cool, she doesn't keep my attention very well. But a good book if you like a good mystery/love story. "

" Another fine Lisa Jackson book. Follows Deep Freeze, with carryover characters. Plotline is much like most of Lisa's books, but still has a way of keeping you interested throughout. Didn't figure out the end until very close to the end. Put all the clues together, and it all fits. "

" I really like Jackson's books. They are always a good mystery, and Jackson has good pacing. I found this one a little cliched, however. The couple that ended up together was way too predictable, and the main female character did not seem very impacted by the emotional things that happened to her. "
