Publisher Description

New York Times bestselling author Charlaine Harris has re-imagined the supernatural world with her "spunky" (Tampa Tribune) Southern Vampire novels starring telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse. Now, for the first time, here is every Sookie Stackhouse short story ever written- together in one volume. Stories include "Fairy Dust," "One Word Answer," "Dracula Night," "Lucky," and "Giftwrap." For years, Charlaine Harris has delighted fans with her mystery series featuring small-town waitress-turned- paranormal-sleuth Sookie Stackhouse. Now, Ace is pleased to republish her second novel in the series in hardcover. In this book, Sookie is pursued by a very sexy vampire-and a very deadly monster.

"Cute short stories. Reminded me of why I like'd this series. Pleasant way to pass the time. of course the stories were short and to the point so they didn't run into the lack of plot problems the novels in this series have been having lately."

— Katie (4 out of 5 stars)

Quotes

  • “Vivid, subtle, and funny in her portrayal of Southern life.”

    — Entertainment Weekly
  • “Blending action, romance and comedy, Harris has created a fully functioning world so very close to our own, except, of course, for the vamps and other supernatural creatures.”

    — Toronto Star
  • “Fans of HBO’s True Blood will swoon over Charlene Harris’ collection of five stories featuring telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse and her supernatural encounters. Not only are there juicy tidbits about choice True Blood characters, there are also new characters and plots to roundly fill out the outrages occurring in Bon Temps, Louisiana. Johanna Parker captures Sookie’s drawl, sometimes tinged with hilarity, sometimes with facetious irony or sweet sarcasm. Parker also imparts a range of expression for the other characters, human and occult. The stories are particularly textured in the way they continually contrast humor and horror, keeping listeners on their toes.”

" If you love all things Sookie I recommend this book. If not pass. It is a fairly simple set of stories... if I hadn't been a fan I don't think I would have stuck with it. I know we as Sookie fans beg for more and more but I think Charlaine could have done better... "
