"I'm still loving the Sookie series. They are fast paced and suck you right in (no pun intended). I liked this one even better because Sookie does not get beaten up for a change. Sookie is hired to accompany the Queen of Louisiana to a vampire convention where intrigue and assassination plots prevail."

“Bestseller Harris mixes humorous Southern-fried fantasy with biting satirical commentary in her seventh novel to feature Sookie Stackhouse…Harris juggles a large cast, including several romantic contenders for Sookie’s heart, with effortless exuberance.”
— Publishers Weekly" This is the second audiobook in the Sookie series and I'm hooked. Looking forward to listening to the complete series. "
— jreed, 11/3/2023" This book was very entertaining it gave more detail into the vampire world and made feel for Eric and Pam.Sookie actually showed more bravery than previous books. "
— Lillian, 5/4/2016" This was the best one of the series. "
— Maureen, 2/17/2014" The Sookie Stackhouse books are sort of "fluff" books for me. Always entertaining, and easy reads. "
— April, 2/14/2014" These are such easy reads, but so interesting now that they are nowhere near what the TV show had done. "
— Renee, 2/11/2014" First off, I love the Sookie Stackhouse books... but it took me waaay longer than it should have for me to get through this one. Normally, I can't stop reading until I finish the others, but I had no motivation to finish this one. 1. I don't like the character of Quinn. I don't know why... but I don't. 2. I think the whole idea of the vampire convention was pretty stupid. 3. The ending didn't really conclude the story. I mean, I know there are several more books to go, but I felt like the climax was way to close to the end, and there wasn't really a resolution to this particular story. 4. Harris introduced so many new characters/names in this book that it got a bit overwhelming and I lost track of who's who. "
— Caitlin, 2/8/2014" More about the inner politics of the Vampire world, as Sookie works for the Queen. There is alot going on, including a plot to kill the Queen and the FOTL bomb plot. Sookie is saying Quinn is her boyfriend but her feelings for Eric and Bill are still there. Lot's of fun! "
— Lisa, 1/31/2014" good plots lines and intrigue.....vampire politics....fun "
— Patryk, 1/27/2014" OMG it took me forever to finish this book.. not sure if it was the book or I just wasn't in the mood to read lately... "
— Leanna, 1/21/2014" So far my favorite of the series "
