"I just have to say it again....Sookie needs to find a better group of friends to hang out with because she just keeps getting hurt. She is too kind and wants to help others but they just get her into trouble. I also have to laugh how she wants to make everyone a peanut butter sandwich! About the only decent friends she has are Sam and Amelia! I liked hearing about her fairy great-grandfather. I wonder what will happen in the next book............"

“Harris outdoes herself in this pivotal eighth Sookie Stackhouse novel, packing the story full of romantic tension and supernatural action…Harris provides many fun twists, most significantly Sookie’s meeting with her fae great-grandfather, Niall Brigant, which paves the way for a shock ending that will delight longtime fans.”
— Publishers Weekly (starred review)" This is a very fun audiobook to listen to. It's light and funny, but also has enough serious moments to keep me interested. "
— jreed, 11/3/2023" And another Sookie Stackhouse novel under my belt. And this one just confirms that, assuming the series keeps getting renewed, it won't be long before they have to leave the book's plots behind, or be very creative in how they continue to use them as the backbone for the TV series. "
— Gregory, 2/8/2014" I'm a bit disappointed. This latest book was eagerly anticipated by me. This book seems to take another step towards a lack of feeling. Sookie is loosing her Southern charm for me. This book was a very fast read and left me hanging a bit. I think that now that I've watched True blood, this series isn't as engaging. "
— ♆, 1/31/2014" I'm getting tired of Sookie. "
— Ksenia, 1/24/2014" These books are obviously fluff and not literature by any means, but they are actually an amazing chick lit fantasy series. There are never dull moments and Sookie Stackhouse is a completely lovable heroine, even if she's slightly unrealistically invincible. "
— Meagan, 1/19/2014" Reread April 8, 2012 "
— Indiana, 1/15/2014" The writing in these books just gets worse and worse but the addictive nature of the stories cannot be denied. "
— Felina, 1/7/2014" I loved the ending...The last few pages made me excited about things to come. "
— Robin, 12/24/2013" These books are really good and easy to read. The characters in these books are really developing now that I'm further along in the series. I can't wait to read the next one to find out what happens. "
— Hilary, 12/23/2013" so much going on...so much action and drama and twists and turns....and and and....did i say and enough...lol "
— Patryk, 12/19/2013" So much going on in this book I'm surprised my brain survived it all. "
— Ashleigh, 12/15/2013" Loved the ending-can't wait to see what happens next. "
— Judy, 11/11/2013" Fun series. Haven't watched the TV show, but I hear the plot is somewhat different. Love the characters! "

— Ana, 2/22/2013" This is one of my favourite books from the series, so far. Lots of changes and developement, all of which will make sure I read the next in the set. "
— Kirsten, 2/17/2013" As always, Charlaine packs a punch with Sookie. Can't wait to read the next one1 "
— Mysty50, 12/14/2012" absolutely love, love, LOVE this book and series! "
— Teralee, 12/12/2011" Some loose ends tied up-Quinn returns, finding out about Sookie's fairy grandfather. But her relationships with Bill & Eric are still a mess, she now has 2 witches living with her, and the were's are fighting. Another quick, entertaining read. "
— Lisa, 8/2/2011" There was a lot of information and action in this book. New vampires, new werewolves, and new family members. "
— Cara, 12/18/2009" Omg, Sookie is awesome! I adore this book.<3 "
— Sabrii, 4/14/2009" Sookie and the rest of the gang are like family. Dysfunctional family. You shake your head but love them anyway. "
— Mina, 3/11/2009" the title says it all. The series is really starting to decline into repetition and predictability. The new characters aren't really adding anything either. "
— Daniel, 2/1/2009" About 3/4 through I lost my e-reader. I finally decided that oh, I can just read the last bit on my computer, but it wouldn't have been a disaster had I never finished. I think I'm starting to get bored with this series. "
