Number one bestselling author Janet Evanovich teams up with award-winning author Dorien Kelly to deliver a sparkling novel of romantic suspense, small-town antics, secretive sabotage, and lots and lots of beer Kate Appleton needs a job. Her husband has left her, she's been fired from her position as a magazine editor, and the only place she wants to go is to her parents' summer house, The Nutshell, in Keene's Harbor, Michigan. Kate's plan is to turn The Nutshell into a Bed and Breakfast. Problem is, she needs cash, and the only job she can land is less than savory. Matt Culhane wants Kate to spy on his brewery employees. Someone has been sabotaging his company, and Kate is just new enough in town that she can insert herself into Culhane's business and snoop around for him. If Kate finds the culprit, Matt will pay her a $20,000 bonus. Needless to say, Kate is highly motivated. But several problems present themselves. Kate despises beer. No one seems to trust her. And she is falling hard for her boss. Can these two smoke out a saboteur, save Kate's family home, and keep a killer from closing in…all while resisting their undeniable attraction to one another? Filled with humor, heart, and loveable characters, Love in a Nutshell is delicious fun.

"A little slow in starting but an enjoyable story. Kate moves to her parents lake cottage to open a bed and breakfast and recover from a divorce. The b&b needs more in repairs than she imagined. She gets a job at a brew pub and the story evolves from there."

“…as the romance peaks and Matt and Kate share adventures, King hits her stride, ably handling the snappy dialogue between Matt and Kate in a way that distinguishes both characters and is absolutely fun to listen to.

— Shoals" Not her best work, but a pretty good listen. Humor and drama all there. "
— Ohsocozee, 10/4/2021" loved it. very fast read. "
— Nicci, 2/13/2014" Pretty run of the mill romance, but set on the Lake Michigan shoreline, which I call home. Nnote to authors: In Michigan, sweet fizzy beverages are called POP. Nothing else, ever. Please fix this for authenticity. "
— Janet, 2/13/2014" awsome ass book "
— Amanda, 2/7/2014" Eh. Not her best. Too cliche. Never really cared about the characters. Never felt any depth. "
— Mandie, 1/21/2014" I adore most of Evanovich's other works, be they Stephanie Plum novels or stand-alones or in her other series. They always make me laugh. This book...did not. It was a romance novel, except there really wasn't that much romance in it. It was a mystery...except there wasn't much of a mystery. I liked Stella and I did like Kate and Matt, but all I was left with at the end was a "...okay, that was sort of cute" and nothing more. And since I can still think about moments in other books she's written -- books I read years ago (exploding taxidermy, anyone?), this book was a disappointment. "
— Jennie, 1/20/2014" Probably one of Evanovich's better books. Not too outlandish. "
— Taryn, 1/13/2014" Quick reading. Cute, light and enjoyable. "
— Elvia, 1/10/2014" I love her no brainier funny books. This was an easy read that kept me entertained and wanting to read to the end. Cute romance. "
— Heather, 12/16/2013" awesome book as usual "
— Trish, 12/11/2013" Cute mystery-romance collaboration. It did get annoying at times though for the POV to change during a scene, and the ending did wrap up a wee bit quickly. "
— Sio, 12/5/2013" This was not Janet's best work. It is cute but real fluff. It could have had a little more romance. A great beach read and I am glad I got it from the library. I would have been angry had I paid full price for this book. "
— Angela, 12/2/2013" Brain candy all the way "
— Debbie, 12/1/2013" Cute little easy read! "
— Rachelle, 11/12/2013" Fun read for times at the end of the day. "
— Becky, 11/8/2013" Another wonderfully human and uplifting romance. My only complaint is that Janet Evanovich just has not written enough of them. After I read the first 2 in her by the number series, she became my favorite author. "
— Janie, 11/3/2013" Not great literature, but fun. "
— Deb, 9/18/2013" Very enjoyable book by Janet Evanovich. "
— Rosemary, 8/26/2013" A nice escape from the everyday. Love a book that leaves me smiling at the end. "
— Kate, 8/2/2013" This was not a book I would have read on my own but it was part of the Select Editions from Readers Digest. I enjoyed the book as it told the story of a young divorced women trying to find her place in a small town while rebuilding her life. I learned a lot about beer making (LOL). "
— John, 5/4/2013" Fun clean romance with a little bit of mystery mixed in. "
— Lynne, 1/11/2013" Fast, fun beach read. "
— Jessica, 9/5/2012" Do not waste your time reading this! "
— Ruth, 4/12/2012" This was a good escape :) "
— Heather, 4/1/2012" Fast pace read. I found myself laughing, throughout the book. A perfect beach read. "
