" I have been trying hard to like this book, but I just can't and I'm not going to try any more. I'm giving up about half way through. I've never said this about a series before, but I kind of wish this wasn't one. I would have liked Slammed better as a stand alone. I liked Will A LOT more when I didn't know as much about him. Will's POV just wasn't working for me in this one. Half the time he seemed like a middle school girl throwing a tantrum and the other half he seemed like an insecure, wussy man trying to control a younger girl. I did NOT like the part where he disabled her car and lied to her about it AT ALL. That was when he went from irritating to okay you're really creeping me out now. After he disabled her car and she still wasn't going to be forced into spending time with him it says he used his "authoritative voice" on her because she usually can't say no to that one. Um ick, gross, yuck!! No no no! He seemed more like a teacher in an inappropriate relationship with a student in this book than he did in Slammed when he actually was her teacher. Not long after the 'authoritative voice' it says he's known her long enough now that he should know how to manipulate her. Um...what?! Manipulation has no place in a healthy relationship. I can usually put up with a lot from male characters, I've read Hush, Hush, Twilight, Beautiful Disaster, all of the popular books that get picked on for their male leads, and they didn't bother me like Will did. I'm not saying his thoughts and actions were insidious or abusive or anything, but there was just an icky tone to it that creeped me out. I know that's not a very literary description, but there it is lol. I'm sorry to say that that coupled with a lot of his actions that just made no sense (what 23/24 year old tells their grandmother (out of nowhere!) that their significant other is a virgin?) and the fact that this book felt kind of like a lot of filler and drama over nothing ruined this one for me. The entire plot of the book is basically build up for them *finally* having sex, and all of the circumstances that get in the way of that. Over dramatic and not very compelling. "
