From The New York Times bestselling writing duo Janet Evanovich and Dorien Kelly, comes the story of a young woman’s search for true love. Caroline Maxwell would like nothing more than to join her brother, Eddie, and his friend, Jack Culhane, on their adventures. While Jack and Eddie are off seeing the world, buying up businesses and building wildly successful careers, Caroline's stuck at home frightening off the men her mother hopes will ask for her hand in marriage.  When her mother sets her sights on the questionable Lord Bremerton as a possible suitor, Caroline struggles with her instincts and the true nature of her heart.  She longs for adventure, passion, love, and most of all . . . Jack Culhane, an unconventional Irish-American bachelor with new money and no title. A completely unacceptable suitor in the eyes of Caroline's mother. But Caroline's dark hair, brilliant eyes and quick wit have Jack understanding just why it is people fall in love and get married.

Set in New York City in 1894, The Husband List is an American gilded age romantic mystery. It evokes memories of the lavish lifestyles and social expectations of the Vanderbilts and Rockefellers—a time when new money from the Americas married Old World social prestige and privilege. Dresses by Worth, transcontinental ocean voyages, lavish parties, a little intrigue, and a lot of romance await in, The Husband List.

" Love this foray into historial romance. Ending was too quick, but loved it anyway "

" I have to say that at first I picked up the book at the library, and after the first chapter put it away because I found it boring. Weeks later I saw the audio book, and I thought I could give it a try. Lorilei King does an awesome job bringing the story to life and makes it sound really charming. Plus I am listening to it in the car, and it does not need my full attention, like reading the book does. I have been well entertained by the story, even though it is nothing out of the ordinary. Rich girl is supposed to marry Lord, but prefers the guy who is not appropriate. The ending is also rather predictable. But if you want a pleasant read with a really great narrator, this audio book works just fine. "

" If you are looking for the normal Janet Evanovich writing put this book back on the shelf. Book lacks humor, and is just plain boring I gave up and quit reading. If this is her new style she will have lost a reader. If I wanted a boring period romance I could have found that elsewhere I came for the zany characters and the wit. Bring it back with the next book please! "

" I enjoyed it. It snagged me from the get-go and that's actually quite hard to do as I'm a picky reader. I bounced between the two characters, cheering for one and then the other - it kept me on my toes and I found myself sighing with contentment as soon as I read the last page. "
