Publisher Description

Rain, the proud and haunted Fey King, risked everything to follow his heart and his destiny to Ellysetta—his truemate, his love, the woodcarver's daughter who possessed miraculous gifts she did not understand. He defied the nobles of Celieria to claim her, battled demons and Elden mages to wed her. And now he must protect her—and his imperiled kingdom—with magic, steel, and scorching flame. For his soul-kin, the magical tairen, are dying, and only the Fey King's bride can save them . . . if Rain can help his beloved embrace the magic within her and forge the unbreakable bond of passion and power necessary to save her soul.

"I liked this book a lot. I'll have to go and find the first 2 books. It was a little slow going at first but once I got into it, it went pretty quickly. It has a little more about war than I care for but some people might enjoy that. I love the whole fey language and felt sad when I read the last page.. I don't want to wait until June 2nd for the last series! She creates a world that you can actually visualize, you learn to love the characters! I'd love to see these series turned into a movie or a show like the Sookie Stockhouse series. :)"

Quotes

  • “Richly imagined…Wilson peels back layers of secrets surrounding the evil mages of Eld and their schemes to destroy the Tairen and the Fey, but the revelations never overwhelm the emotional intensity of Ellysetta and Rain’s developing relationship or diminish the textured beauty of the writing. An exciting climax will leave fans hungry for more.”

    — Publishers Weekly
  • “Evil is gaining strength and closing in on the extraordinary world of the Tairen and Fey. Picking up after the events from the previous book, the third chapter in this imaginative saga continues down a sinister path. Wilson’s unique worldbuilding and complex social structure trap her protagonists in a morass of danger. She is fast becoming a brand name!”

" Nowhere near as good as the first 2 books in this series. More of a world-building book than a relationship book, which is probably why I was disappointed. The first 2 books are much more about Ellie and Rain's relationship. I have high hopes that the fourth book with be much better. "

About C. L. Wilson

C. L. Wilson wrote her first story at age six, and though she took a number of long detours during her life, she never gave up her lifelong dream of being published. Many years, hundreds of false starts, and five completed novels later, she received “the Call” in October 2006 and sold her epic fantasy romance, Tairen Soul, at auction. Wilson’s debut novel spent two weeks on the USA Today bestseller list, and her subsequent novels have gone on to hit a variety of lists, including USA Today, New York Times, and Publishers Weekly. When not writing, she enjoys relaxing with her husband and three children in sunny Florida and daydreaming of a world where people exercise in their sleep and chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream is a fat-burning food.
