"This narrator has been an absolute joy to listen to, and was very sad to hear she passed away during a flood. She hits the mark on almost everything, and is able to deliver humour so well. All voices, male, female, child are so well done. The story, well, I had left this to last to listen to in the series. I found it often incredibly painful - sad/tragic. Really, almost made me cry with what the heroine goes through, not to mention her little boy. So would be very prepared and in the right mood to listen to."

Quotes

  • “Phillips digs deep to expose weaknesses and strengths in the psyche and faith of her characters. The result is a book that is touching, funny, sexy, and humane.”

" One of my favorite SEP's but for a strange reason. I fell in love with the secondary romance of Kristy Brown and the Reverend Ethan. I've always been a sucker for make-over romances. "

" Susan Elizabeth Phillips never fails to entertain me and make my heart sigh. What I particularly liked about this book was the exploration of faith - it was seamlessly entertwined with the overall plot and had none of the cringe factor because it's never preachy. "

" My favorite book from Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Favorite character? Little Edward (he wants you to call him Chip, by the way). This little guy stole every scene he was in , and there is a reason that 13 years after its publication readers still ask the author when she will write his story. "

" wonderfully written, could hardly believe it was from the same author as "nobody's baby but mine" the characters were believable, given much more depth, plot was solid and the ending really felt like a happy ending. I'd even begun to like Cal and Jane! "

" Vibráremos con cada risa de nuestros personajes y se nos partirá el corazón al leer sobre sus desgracias, pero ¿Hay algo más bonito que una novela que te llegue al corazón?, para mí no. "

" This is a really emotional book. I was really drawn in until the end. I didn't care for the finish at all and it ruined the book for me. "

" This was another fun one. Definitely in the category of Susan Elizabeth Phillips's "good" ones. Even though the love story of the brother Ethan was the secondary story, I think I liked his story a little bit more than the one between Gabe and Rachel. I love those Bonner boys! "
