Tall, dark and eligible? That's all that matters to the women of Jacobsville when it comes to handsome and aloof FBI agent Jon Blackhawk. But if it were up to him, he would never settle down. Luckily, Jon has the best gatekeeper: his efficient and reliable assistant, Joceline Perry. Without her help, he'd be at the mercy of husband hunters - but the more he comes to rely on her, the more he notices how invaluable she really is....

While Joceline can't deny that her boss is attractive, as a single mother with responsibilities she's determined to be professional. But when Jon is accosted by a criminal seeking revenge, she comes to his aid - fueling the spark that is growing between them. As the attempts on Jon's life increase, Joceline stands by his side. But when the smoke clears, will the man who avoided love realize that all he ever needed was right there all along?

" Not as good as some of her other stuff. "

" DP writes interesting stories about strong, honorable men and women in hard circumstances. Jocelyn works for a federal agent, Jon Blackfoot. She accompanies her boss to a soiree at the last moment one fateful night. Jon is drugged at the party by a mischievous aristocrat. He acts on hidden feelings for Jocelyn, she doesn't realize he is under the influence until the deed is done, where upon she rushes Jon to the hospital. She becomes pregnant, decides to quit her job. Jon who doesn't remember what happened that night encourages her to keep her job. Now five years later Jocelyn and her son are threatened by killers who are also after her boss. To save her life Jon spirits her away to his ranch where he realizes how much he loves her and a romance progresses. It is a highly implausible story but a fun quick read. "

" It was good but I was a bit disappointed. Not as good as hers usually are. This was more crime story and not a lot of Romance.. Hard to keep up with the crime stuff "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Patricia Solla | 10/16/2013

" More law and order than cowboy; this tale is about a man who's an FBI agent and his paralegal who doesn't involve her private life in her work life. But the two become emmeshed as there are always threats against the FBI guy (for payback) but not they include harming his paralegal and her son. "

" This was a very predictable story. The language seemed odd. The banter between characters seemed more developed than some of the story. The whole thing had an awkward feel to it. "

" Lame, outdated (even though it was written in 2011) and preachy. The characters are one dimensional, the relationship that all of a sudden came about was so sudden and unbelievable. The whole video game aspect was ridiculous and out of place. "

" DNF: After 25 minutes of listening, I couldn't go on. The combination of drag-queen women's voices and inane plotline made me too anxious and I shouldn't have to take valium to finish an audiobook - I am just not that dedicated. "
