Her name is Susannah, but three men she brings together call her Hot Shot. She’s the spark to a daring venture they start in a garage and build into an empire. For Sam, a rebel, the business is just the thrill he seeks; for Yank, an eccentric inventor, it’s his vision fulfilled; and for Mitch, a starched marketing genius, it’s a risk he has to take.

But dreams can have a cruel price. For Susannah, daughter of a bigwig in a competing company, success means losing her family. The trade-off is unimagined courage and a passion that will enrich her dramatically. Is it worth it?

" I really liked reading it at the time, but man it was long - I've never had the courage to read it cover to cover again, I just skip to my favourite bits. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Patty | 4/1/2011

" Typical romance except that it dealt with hardware developers of Silicon Valley in the 70s, who, of course, are supposedly all "nerds", but become amazingly rich and sexy. It did attempt a feminist approach, but rather failed in my mind. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Sarah | 2/16/2011

" This book was fabulous! Although I’m not usually a huge fan of lite historical reading (eg, early 80’s), this book was a great mix of drama, romance, comedy, with a little history of the computer industry mixed in. The book took a while to warm up and by the end I couldn’t put it down. A+. "

" Despite me stopping this book several times because it was loosing me--I felt compelled to pick it back up. It was a good read but I felt it had too many unnecessary details at times. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Sheila | 12/6/2010

" This is my favorite of her books that I've read so far. I love the character of Susannah, from the childhood wounds she overcame to her strength in becoming a strong businesswoman. "

" I LOVE her books. This one was my least favorite so far, it seemed it took forever for me to finish. "

" It takes her a long time to get to the main story.
