“I wouldn’t miss a Kim Harrison book for anything.”
—Charlaine Harris, author of the Sookie Stackhouse novels
“Her work can read like a smoldering combination of Alice Waters and Ozzy Osbourne.”
—New York Times Book Review
A true queen of urban fantasy—the New York Times bestselling author of the wildly popular series featuring bounty hunter witch-turned-daywalking demon Rachel Morgan—the phenomenal Kim Harrison explores the Hollows more deeply than ever before in Into the Woods, her first collection of short stories. Rachel is here, as are Jenks the pixie, elven tycoon Trent Kalamack, and an unholy host of vampires, demons, shapeshifters, ghosts, and other assorted supernatural beings, friends and foes. Into the Woods combines original work, including a new Hollows novella, as well as all of Kim Harrison’s previously published short fiction gathered together in one volume for the very first time. No true Hollows aficionado will want to pass this up—and readers of Laurell K. Hamilton, Kelley Armstrong, Patricia Briggs, and Jim Butcher; fans of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight novels and of paranormal romance superstars Christine Feehan and Sherrilyn Kenyon, will be likewise enchanted.

"Vampires, witches, pixies, dryads, elves, fairies, druids....this collection of stories has it all. Not being familiar with the author's Hollows series, it still wasn't a problem reading these stories as each one could stand on its own. I loved that much of it was set in Cincinatti which is local to me. I will probably check out her other books."

“Harrison’s Hollows series remains one of the more solid and satisfying islands in the current sea of novels involving vampires, demons, and werewolves. Hollows fans will be enthralled by the first half of this short story collection…Harrison’s talent for making supernaturals understandable, likable, and engaging is amply demonstrated in this strong collection.”
— Publishers Weekly“For the first time, all of Kim Harrison’s shorter pieces are gathered together in one volume…A must read for Harrison fans.”
— Booklist“Whether exploring the backstory of Mia the banshee or trying out a different sort of supernatural creature, this collection should attract Harrison’s sizable fan base.”

— Terry, 1/14/2014" I'm not usually a fan of short stories, but these are great. "
— Hope, 1/6/2014" Loved the Hollows stories. I liked the two stories with the dryads. Pet Shop Boys was okay. Grace was hard to get through. And, unfortunately, it was the last story. Could've ended on a higher note. "
— Aine, 12/20/2013" It's got details on when Trent & Jenks went to 'Frisco! "
— Matthew, 12/15/2013" Some of the stories were really good, others were not. I did enjoy most of them. Being a Hallows fan, it was interesting to see some of the back stories. "
— Ashley, 12/2/2013" what a great book, really brings it all together and some good clarity. love the series, wish more 'read alikes' were similar, cant seem to find another one :( "
— Lvzer1, 11/14/2013" A good mix of old and new stories that show Kim Harrison's growth as a writer. My personal favourite is easily the Trent, Jenks adventure. "
— Minh, 8/24/2013" Several good stories, and several duds. But it does include a story that fills in a missing piece of the Hollows series that I was curious about. "
— TJ, 8/5/2013" For all those Hollows fans out there it is worth reading for "Million Dollar Baby" alone. "
— Barbara, 2/11/2013" I enjoyed this book a lot! Million Dollar Baby was, of course, the most anticipated one, but I found ALL of her short stories fun and different :) "
