Despite dating one vampire and living with another, Rachel Morgan has always managed to stay just ahead of trouble . . . until now.
A fiendish serial killer stalks the Hollows, and no one living in or around Cincinnati—human, inhuman, or undead—is safe.
An ancient artifact may be the key to stopping the murderer—a mysterious relic that is now in the hands of Rachel Morgan, fearless independent bounty hunter and reckless witch. But revealing it could ignite a battle to the death among the vast and varied local supernatural races.
Rachel's been lucky so far. But even she can't hide from catastrophe forever.

"I actually really enjoyed this book compared to the last one. Rachel is still annoying my somewhat, whilst this book starts with trouble finding her for a change (usually she finds it all by herself) she really doesn't do herself any favours. Dealing with demons, luckily she is getting a bit smarter on this front and dealing with the repercussions of having the focus (see the previous book) this book is jammed packed with action. I found it was about halfway through the book until i was enjoying it and Rachel constantly makes really bad decisions, but towards the end she really seemed to grow on me, or possibly just grow up a little. I actually think i might read the next book, so if you have been put off by "A Fistful Of Charms" do keep reading as i really liked this one."

" A few demons make for one exciting addition to The Hollows series. Not only more demons, but more action, more risks, more soul-searching, more elves, more corpses. Unfortunately, one more corpse than any Hollows fan wanted to experience. Still looking forward to #6, The Outlaw Demon Wails. "
— Page, 2/19/2014" I love this series of books though they are sometimes are little disjointed and not necessarily told in a cohesive way. Putting that aside, I take them for what they are which is a good, easy, escapist read with Rachel Mariana Morgan and Al. "
— Joanne, 2/12/2014" My favorite one so far. I don't often cry at the end of books, especially ones with vampires and fairies and such, but I actually got misty for this one. Really really good! "
— mpfrom, 2/8/2014" Not my favorite of the series so far, but I did enjoy it. Sometimes it just grates seeing Rachel being so disrespected all around (including herself.) But Jenks always makes it worthwhile. "
— Michael, 1/29/2014" starts a little slow, but what a ending. The 2nd half is good. I love the changes in Kisten, it was nice to see Rachel happy with someone. The end is so sad, but what a twist that comes out of it. "
— Missyb, 1/26/2014" I don't think it would count against her if she murdered Trent--or sent someone/thing else to do it "
— Megan, 1/6/2014" Nice read, great characterization, interesting take on the blending of the supernatural and the mundane. "
— Clinton, 12/27/2013" I am heartbroken, and still upset about this one! Starting to respect Rachel a bit more, though she still bugs me. The problem with getting hooked on series books is that you really get attached to characters. It was quite the roller coaster ride! "
— Diane, 12/4/2013" Oh no! What happened to Kisten? How can the author be so cruel? "
