Publisher Description

“I wouldn’t miss a Kim Harrison book for anything.”

—Charlaine Harris

There’s nothing more darkly satisfying than time spent in the Hollows—New York Times bestseller Kim Harrison’s alternate urban fantasy Cincinnati where vampires, pixies, and werewolves roam free. Harrison takes us back in A Perfect Blood, as former bounty hunter witch-turned-reluctant daywalking demon Rachel Morgan investigates a series of ritual murders, only to discover to her horror that whomever—or whatever—is responsible is actually seeking her blood.  Rachel’s sexy, supernatural adventures have consistently landed atop bestseller lists from coast-to-coast, and A Perfect Blood is no exception—another supremely satisfying excursion to a deliciously eerie fantasy realm that’s certain to delight Kim Harrison’s voracious army of fans…not to mention Laurell K. Hamilton, Charlaine Harris, Jim Butcher, Kelley Armstrong, Patricia Briggs, and Stephanie Meyers aficionados, and any reader who craves a walk on the wild, dark side.

"I think out of the series this book has been one of my favorites I cant even say how much I absolutely love this series and cannot wait for the next book Ever After #11 to come out in 2013 so excited but really bummed that I have to wait for it because I think it has taken me about 3 to 4 months to go through the series up to this point!"

Quotes

  • “The pace and tone of A Perfect Blood reflects its protagonist: a little more cautious, reflective and purposeful, and the book is more powerful as a result…Harrison provides the strongest and most self-assured Rachel we’ve seen yet.”

    — Miami Herald
  • “Harrison has, by now, fleshed out an exceedingly satisfying and well-rendered world that is much more than the usual paranormal backdrop…First-time readers will find this volume a good introduction to Harrison’s landmark urban fantasy series.”

    — Publishers Weekly
  • “With the end of this popular series coming soon, fans will be savoring the remaining episodes all the more, and those who have delayed entry will begin jumping on board.”

    — Booklist
  • “Harrison’s colorful cast of supporting characters keeps the story moving among the fast-paced action scenes. Longtime fans will obviously be standing in line for this one. However, readers with any interest in urban fantasy can easily jump into the story.”

" As ever, a fun series. The title fits, though I don't quite see how it falls into the Clint Eastwood title/wordplay theme of the other ones. If any of you "get it" for the title, please let me know. And no, The Perfect Storm is not a Clint Eastwood title. "

" Man. Rachel really gets on my nerves. But her lack of decisive actions and hr constant whining really infuriated me. The action was great as always, but she was acting more like a girl and less like a woman. She was way more ruthless and decisive in her first book. It seems like Rachel is scared of violence and sex...but she's always playing around with both at the expense of her own life, then she ends up feeling guilty. Geesh. "

" Things really seemed to drag in this one. The story was enjoyable, but there were too many parts that seemed to drag it out. At one point everyone was getting prepared to raid a "baddie" hideout and it just went on and on. Honestly, do we need a 6 page dialogue about how the bust is going to go down? No so much. I want to read about the actual take-down, not the preparation of it. Not to mention one of the baddies must have been related to Freddy Krueger because that guy wouldn't stay down. Rachel is still annoying at times, Ivy still has her "emo vampire sex goddess" thing going, Jenks is still hilarious, Trent is still (for the most part) a mystery, and Al does make an appearance towards the end (which just wasn't enough Al for me. I <3 him). I'm sure I'll grab the next Hallows book the day it's released, but if Rachel doesn't quit annoying the crap out of me I might not continue past the next installment. "
