Publisher Description

Things are going well for Lieutenant Jacqueline “Jack” Daniels of the Chicago Police Department. She has solved some of the city’s toughest and most high-profile homicides. Her personal life is finally in order. Her friends and family are safe and happy. And she just got a call that eased her mind like nothing else could: Alex Kork, one of the most dangerous criminals Jack ever arrested, killed herself while in jail.

But things sour quickly when a group of vigilantes on a murderous spree decide to take down a cop and the people she cares about…and they turn downright awful when Jack discovers that Kork may not be dead after all. The next eight hours will be the worst of Jack’s life. And that’s saying something. Fuzzy Navel is perfect for listeners who like their mysteries with a shot of humor.

“A particularly potent mix of equal parts mirth and mayhem with a dash of sex and a twist (or two) of plot...Konrath’s latest should be taken straight, no chaser needed.” –Publishers Weekly

“A well-shaken mix of action, humor, suspense, and sharp dialogue.” –Newsday

“A phenomenal thriller that never disappoints.” –Lloyd Woodall, Borders Group, Inc., Ann Arbor, Michigan

“J.A. Konrath has done it again. I’ve read every book, and I still want more.” –Norman Goldman, Barnes & Noble, Encino, California

"Jack (Jackie) Daniels is called to the scene of a murder. The victim has been previously accused of sexual abuse and they find pornographic scenes on his computer. Before Jack and her partner, Herb fully investigate the scene, she gets a call and soon realizes two more victims with similar identities are murdered. They rush to the scene of the second murder but the sniper has not left and other police officers are also murdered. Mayheim follows. Before the dust settles, Jack receives a disturbing call from her mother asking her to come home now! She leaves Herb to stall the chief of police promising as soon as she can, she will return to give her official statement. When she arrives home, she finds a far greater danger. Love the author's sense of humor. I laughed out loud a few times. The ending is great, the reader is left not knowing the full outcome. Now I have to locate the next book in the sequel to find out what happened!"

" I've not read any other books in the series, so perhaps I am being unfair. The situation/conflict felt like it should have been part of a larger story. Instead it was as though the author intentionally streteched out the scene into an entire novel to get you to read the next novel with it's cliff hanger ending. Think I'll pass. "

" Jakie is a cop who finally has her life in order..and to make life sweeter she receives a call that a prisoner(an arch rival) is dead..She is so relieved..until a vigilante group and her arch rival come after her and her family. Not a good situation..Do they get out of the situation and does the arch rival finally die??? Read on it's worth it. "

" This is a bad book but I had to give it two stars because I actually finished it. I've enjoyed the other books in this series but this one was completely ridiculous. It just went on and on. I don't care for books written in the present tense as this one is. I checked the sample chapters in the next book, Cherry Bomb, and found out something on the very first page I didn't want to know. But it's written more like the first four books were and I decided I'd better finish Fuzzy Navel if I wanted to read the next book. I'm getting them free from Amazon Prime; not sure I'd be paying the prices for these. My favorite part of this series is the psycho cat. "

" I enjoyed Whiskey Sour & Dirty Martini but was really disappointed in Fuzzy Navel. There was nonstop action in the book, but most of it was gratuitous, IMO. And the end? I've never, EVER read a book that's only purpose was to promote another, unwritten book. "
