"As usual, Konrath kept me interested through the whole book. I've never read one of his that I didn't like and he didn't disappoint me this time. Tequila was really a bad guy, but you had to like him anyway. Action packed all the way through! "

" Slow to start, much better finish, but not one of his best. At the end you are thinking, please be done already. "
— Stephanie, 2/9/2014" I have been totally impressed with Konrath's ability to promote his books and have become a follower of his blog, but had not read anything until this week. This is a pretty good "beach read," a special category of escapism that I like to read. If you like John Locke, you will probably like Konrath better because the characters have more depth and the plots more dimension. Yep, bottom-line, I'll read more of his books. "
— Robert, 2/6/2014" The first chapter blew me away. The rest of the book bored me. "
— Sue, 2/1/2014" Shot of Tequila was my first J.A. Konrath novel -- apparently I've missed several along the way. At first I was annoyed that the book didn't spend enough time with Jack Daniels -- the character I thought was to be the focus. Then, when I understood that Tequila was indeed the main character I became intrigued. It's not often that the criminal (not the detective) is the main character in a mystery. I liked the change. I came to like the character, and I definitely liked the story. I was intrigued by the author's sense of humor -- even in dire conditions. The language is a bit rough for me, but it seems to fit the situations and characters, so I'd recommend this book. "
— Sally, 1/25/2014" a bit too much fighting and killing for me on this one! Though I did like the main character, a hired killer with redeeming qualities. "
— Robin, 1/21/2014" I loved this book. So great to read it from the perspective of the criminal....couldn't put it down. "
— Casey, 1/12/2014" Such fun! I'm a huge fan of J.A. Konrath but this is the first Jack Daniels book I've read. Believable characters and a fast pace made this quite an enjoyable read. "
— Janet, 12/30/2013" My least favorite by Konrath. Too much details of action sequences and not enough storyline. "
— Sarah, 12/8/2013" very fast pace tequila was a pretty cool guy "
— Kellie, 12/6/2013" Another Jack Daniels adventure. Similar to the others. Lots of action, albeit far fetched. "
— Carl, 11/23/2013" Seemed to lack a moral compass. "
— Debi, 11/11/2013" 3.5 fast reading,held my interest.very gory "
— Linda, 10/24/2013" Quirky, pulpy action book with a good sense of humor. Over-the-top action that you'll need a dose of belief suspension for, but you'll never look at a back-flipping gymnast quite the same. "
— liirogue, 7/31/2013" A great book the authors notes at the back sum it up perfectly as pulp fiction. Lots of action and an anti-hero with a great back story "
— Angela, 6/4/2013" A lot of violence, enough to make you squirm and flinch - just what you'd expect from J A Konrath. Good character development, however, which makes you keep reading because the author somehow makes you care about these people in his world. "
— Deb, 2/21/2013" I have been so so on the Jack Daniels books and this one was beyond absurd. Tequila was a thug with some morals. Jack was ok, she was funny with Tequila was slightly towards the end. Most of the story was just people running around and killing each other, that got old fast. "
— Darcy, 2/13/2013" Good, above average thriller at a great price. "
— Gregory, 2/8/2013" Tequila puts all other tough guys to shame, if you want to understand the term bad ass, read this book. "
— Marc-Antoine, 2/14/2012" Like the rest of the Jack Daniels series, this is a fun easy read. "
— Julie, 12/29/2011" Quick read. A great prequel to the Jack Daniels' series. It would be great to see Tequila again. "
— Jane, 11/14/2011" liked how jack was secondary in the intro of this book "
— Erin, 7/12/2011" I have been so so on the Jack Daniels books and this one was beyond absurd. Tequila was a thug with some morals. Jack was ok, she was funny with Tequila was slightly towards the end. Most of the story was just people running around and killing each other, that got old fast. "
— Darcy, 7/5/2011" The first chapter blew me away. The rest of the book bored me. "
— Sue, 4/24/2011" Quick read. A great prequel to the Jack Daniels' series. It would be great to see Tequila again. "
— Jane, 3/28/2011" I found this book boring, and not at all like the other stories. I wouldn't suggest it. "
— Sara, 2/11/2011" liked how jack was secondary in the intro of this book "
— Erin, 9/2/2010" Very short book; but it took me awhile to finish because I forgot I hadn't finished it. I really like the character of Tequila. "
